Fintec 1440 for Quarrying and Demolition
Fintec Crushing and Screening Ltd (Northern Ireland) has introduced the new Fintec 1440 track mounted impact crusher. Equipped with a field proven Sandvik impactor, the new model is the company’s first since it was acquired by Sandvik in 2007. It combines Fintec’s experience in the design of mobile chassis with Sandvik’s unquestionable leadership in the manufacture of high output impact crushers for quarrying, demolition and recycling applications.

Hitachi Mining Excavators Dash-6 Series
Hitachi has introduced its Dash-6 Series of mining shovels and backhoes. The new mining excavators feature new higher horsepower Tier-2 Cummins engines and an enhanced cab with better visibility, a new air-suspension operator’s seat, a new widescreen color LCD multifunction monitor, and new low-effort short-throw levers with electric fly by wire.

Liebherr T282B LMS Technology
Engineering solutions company, LMS has announced that its technology has played an important role in the development of the latest models of Liebherr’s diesel-electric mining truck, the T282B, one of the largest trucks currently in production worldwide. Liebherr has designed the latest T282B models using LMS multibody and durability solutions to help the truck withstand harsh mining conditions while providing maximum load capacity.

Caterpillar New Mining Trucks
Caterpillar unveiled the next generation of mining trucks at MINExpo 2008 in Las Vegas. Along with improved safety features, Tier 2 compliant engines and new integrated technologies in the existing Cat mining fleet. Caterpillar introduced four new trucks. The 793 series in the 240- to 250-ton class will be available in both mechanical (793F) and electric (793F AC) versions.

Liebherr Ambitious Plans
Liebherr made several announcements at MINExpo 2008 including unveiling a new development located close to the Colmar airport, France, not far from the plant currently used to build their hydraulic crawler excavators. The company are currently investing approximately US$150 million to facilitate capacity extensions at locations in the US and Brazil as well as Colmar in France.
