The Australian Freight Expo will be held at a larger, more accessible site at Melbourne`s Caulfield Race Course this year on September 19–21.
Freight Expo acts as a showcase for freight innovation, solutions, systems and networking and as a result has become the most recognized and largest national event of its type.
In the past, Freight Expo has been associated with the heavy transport industry; however, changes in technology and logistics have seen the emphasis move towards solutions-based areas.
The Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) and the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) are jointly presenting the event.
Freight Expo is held as part of Freight Week and is one of the highlight events.
The new site at Caulfield Race Course boasts first-class facilities and is easily accessible, with free parking for exhibitors and visitors, as well as frequent tram and train services.
More than 130 exhibitors representing hundreds of Australian and international suppliers are expected to present a huge range of products and services and more than 3500 trade visitors are expected to attend.
Freight Expo 2007 will see the development of a dedicated Materials Handling Sector with freight forwarding companies also a feature at this year`s show.
Products being represented include: transport technology, radio frequency identification-enabled distribution technology (RFIDs), GPS technologies, communications, bar code and data capture technologies, warehousing solutions and materials handling products plus a range of industry services, including recruitment, training, financial services and insurance.
