Househam Merlin sprayer
Househam announced the roll out of its self-propelled sprayer Merlin. It was constructed for two years. The technicians took into account all the clients’ requirements while doing it.
The spray tanks can be made either from the fiberglass or stainless still. The tanks capacity is 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 or 6,000 L.
The boom can be folded to ease the transport. While folding it lay horizontally on the each side of the vehicle, escaping the rear overhang. The boom can be folded twice (than the length is from 13 to 24 m) and triple (12 to 36 m accordingly). The break-back protection is standard. There are automatic boom leveling and auto-height as additional options. The height of the boom is regulated by hydraulics and can be varied from 400 up to 2,800 mm depending on the wheels.
One section of the boom is 1 meter in length. So if the boom is 32 m long than it will contain 32 sections. This allows to operator to regulate the intensity and the radius of spraying. One can intensify spraying in one section and stop spraying at all in others.
The chassis is beefed up with the twin bolts.
The wheel base of the smaller size sprayers is 3,450 mm and the bigger ones has the wheel base in 3,950 mm long. The axles weight is spread in the 50/50 proportion. The air suspension is installed. The clearance is 1,100 mm depending on the tire types.
The sprayer wears 6.6L 6-cylinders Caterpillar engine at 170 hp. The output can be increased optionally up to 225 hp. The engine meets Stage 3A, because it is equipped by the exhaust gas recirculation system. The fuel tank capacity is 300 L.
There is a control joystick integrated in the right armrest. The stairs are illuminated while stepping on it.
Besides, the sprayers are equipped by the auto-guidance system. The acceleration and brake pedal is now on each sprayers according to the customers demand.
The recommended retail price for Merlin with standard specs with the 24m boom and 4,000 L spray tank capacity is £124,000.
