Challenger MT Series Challenger has added a number of new features to their MT700C and MT800C ranges, as well as their 4WD artic-steer MT900C series, including a new worldwide colour scheme of yellow, grey and black. The new colour 7 inch (178mm) Total Management Centre (TMC) display is fitted to the front of the armrest and is fully adjustable, and includes 15 keys and a rotary selector dial for full control of ISOBUS equipped implements.

Axos Tractor Claas New Axos Range Claas has replaced its sub-100hp Celtis tractors with the new Axos models. The four tractors - called the 310, 320, 330 and 340 - have power ratings of 75hp, 87hp, 92hp and 102hp respectively. There are three different spec levels - C, CL and CX versions. Axos models get a four-cylinder Perkins 1104D-44TA engine with 4.4-litre capacity and a mechanical injection system.

Massey Ferguson Combine Massey Ferguson New Three-Model Combine Range Massey Ferguson has finally announced the launch of its long-awaited rotary combine range. These US-made machines, built in the Hesston factory in Kansas, have been on test this side of the Atlantic for some time and have been extensively adapted to suit European farming conditions. They also now get a new cab and electronic system. The Fortia range consists of three models, the MF9695, MF9795 and top-of-the-range MF9895.

LB1270 Baler Vicon to introduce new square balers Two new big square balers have joined the line-up of balers available from Vicon (Netherlands). The LB1270 and the LB1290 offer more capacity and produce bales with greater density, when compared with the LB 12200 and LB 12290 balers they now replace. The LB1270 produces bales measuring 120cm wide by 70cm high while the LB1290 makes 120cm wide by 80cm or 90cm high bales.

Caterpillar Compact Telehandler Caterpillar New Compact Telehandlers Caterpillar has launched three new telehandlers into the agricultural market. The TH255 super compact is designed to work in tight areas and comes with a load capacity of 2500kg, a maximum lift height of 5.6m and a capacity at maximum reach of 839kg. Despite its compact dimensions - which include a width of 1.82m, cab height of 1.9m and turning radius of 3.2m - the TH255 is claimed to have a spacious cab and be easy to get in and out of.

The M40 series offers four models in the 60-95hp range with prices starting from ?23,000 and are available from the beginning of June. The new series, which supersedes the established ME range, is clearly aimed at the livestock or mixed farmer.

The forager boasts a 20.1-litre Iveco V6 engine and a patented Variflow system that enables the operator to switch between grass and maize crops in less than two minutes.

Diesel Quad Four-wheeled Diesel Quad from Ecorider Ecorider (Scotland) has added a four-wheeled diesel quad to its range. Called the Ecoquad, it is claimed to be capable of 90mpg, compared to a typical 10-15mpg for petrol-engine quads. It also puts out just 83g/km of CO2 compared to as much as 450g/km for a petrol-engine machine.

The concept unites the advantages of track tractors with those of high performance wheel tractors. Three axles mean a higher transfer of power and significantly better traction compared to conventional wheeled designs, while its outer width allows unrestricted use on the road. To optimize traction and reduce soil compaction, Fendt plans a tyre pressure control system for the design concept.

Weidemann Little Pigeons can Carry Great Messages With model 4070 CX 80 LP Weidemann (Germany) presents a new wheel loader at the Agritechnica 2007 and expands its existing wheel loader series. This vehicle, with a height of only 2.4 m, is especially designed for use in low-ceilinged facilities such as poultry barns or storage buildings. For powerful and efficient stacking and loading operations the new machine features a 56 kW engine by Deutz.

Fendt New Standards in Farm Machinery Fendt (Germany) is constantly setting new standards in harvesting equipment by launching the unique concept of the 9460 R rotary combine at the Agritechnica 2007. At the heart of the Fendt 9460 R is a large rotor measuring 800 mm in diameter and 3.55 m in length, which ensures optimum crop throughput. The newly designed intake system of the rotor reduces crop damage to a minimum.

Fendt Tractors to Any Taste At a recent press conference the Bavarian manufacturer revealed that it has chosen its Vario 820 model for a special factory modification that will enable its Deutz engine to run on raw vegetable oil. A twin tank system dubbed ‘greentec’ runs on standard mineral diesel when cold and then switches over to more viscous vegetable oil when up to temperature.

Case Case IH Axial-Flow 9010 Сombine The latest and biggest model of Case IH Axial-Flow combine (Great Britain) is the 9010. There is a 13-litre Iveco engine in the engine compartment. Normally it puts out 460hp, but if engine revs drop as a result of a heavy load it will boost that to 532hp. The combine features a CVT gearbox, a new smaller rotor that is said to be easier on the straw and use less fuel.

The Vicon RV 2160, producing bales up to 1.6m diameter and the RV 2190 for bales up to 1.82m, have been thoroughly overhauled with changes catering for bigger tractors and improving performance when baling grass.

Tucano Claas launches new Tucano combine harvesters Claas (Germany) has launched new mid-range Tucano line-up that replaces previous small models. Although sales of these small combines has only accounted for 10% of the market in recent years, Claas believes an injection of extra sophistication and automation will help to bolster demand with farmers looking to cover between 160ha and 400ha a year. Grain tank capacities range from 6500-litres up to 9000-litres.

According to a source in the administration of region, the agreements were signed at the economical forum Kuban-2006 by a Buhler representative John Buhler and Governor of Krasnodar region Alexander Tkachev.

Sanctions are no threat to Belarusian tractors Since early 2006, Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ), Belarus, increased production of tractors and machines by 21.8% compared to the same period of last year, which resulted in output of 25,301 items.

Totally during the mentioned period, the plant produced items worth $463 mln, which is 128.4% to the rates of first half of 2005.

During the mentioned period, the plant exported products worth $280 mln, which is over 125.5% compared to the same period of last year.

Tractor plant to save Russia from fire July 27, Chelyabinsk (Russia) will ship a large set of heavy anti-fire equipment by Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant to the most fire-exposed regions of Russia.

The supply of equipment to regions is performed within the framework of pilot project of sustained forest utilization organized by Russian Government and World Bank. Within the financing over 600 units of equipment have been already supplied to the most fire-hazardous regions during 2005 and the first half of 2006.

New Belarusian tractor will begin season of field works earlier Belarusian expo BelAgro-2006 witnessed an unusual model demonstrated by Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ). This is 4,0 class MTZ-2002 agricultural tractor.

The new tractor is based on existing model MTZ-2022. Power unit has seen no changes, but the undercarriage, instead of pneumatic tyre, now features Canada-made track carts with cast rubber-armored tracks. The innovation allows to 4 to 5 times reduce total pressure on the ground, which makes it possible to operate on soils with low supporting

Russian ag machinery manufacturer to take the crop on Mongolian fields Russian agricultural equipment giant Rostselmash won a tender announced by Japanese International Cooperation System (JICS) and Ministry of Agriculture of Mongolia to supply grain combines to Mongolia. 26 Niva-Effect combines will be shipped to Mongolia within the next few weeks to participate in harvesting job (September-October 2006).

One should mention that it is the second time Rostselmash has been victorious in a harvesting tender organized by JICS. In 2005, the company won a tender

Japan to support Moldavian farmers Moldavian farmers will be able to lease tractors. It became possible due to 100 Russian MTZ tractors purchased out of proceeds of Japanese grant of 230 mln yen (about $2 mln).

Tractors will be leased to farmers who will pay out their price within several years. Originally they will have to pay 40% of the price of machines, the rest will be paid in three portions.

Russian ag equipment manufacturer supports farmers with free diesel Last autumn, Russian farming machinery manufacturer Rostselmash announced action in Udmurtian Republic, according to which enterprises that buy any combine produced by the company will get a bonus card for 3,000, 5,000 or 7,500 liters of diesel fuel (depending on the model).

Such support of farmers during rapid growth of fuel prices was very opportune for farmers. This was convinced by high activity of customers in off-season period of the action – 35 enterprises of the republic purchased

New Holland switches to biodiesel While a number of engine and equipment manufacturers have approved the use of biodiesel, until now most had limited their approval to the relatively small B2 (2% biofuel, 98% petroleum diesel) or B5 (5% biofuel, 95% petroleum diesel) blends. But now ag equipment manufacturer New Holland, part of CNH Global, has approved the use of 20% biodiesel (B20) in all of its equipment using New Holland engines. According to the US National Biodiesel Board, New Holland is the first original equipment manufacturer

600 Russian tractors for Uzbekistan During commercial and economical visit of Altai Territory (Russia) representatives to Uzbekistan, a contract was signed for supply of 600 Russian tractors. Totally, 1,200 agricultural tractors are planned to be produced for Uzbekistan in 2006. During the visit, representatives of OJSC Alttrak had meetings and negotiations with Uzbek enterprises. The meetings resulted in a contract with Uzbek company Uzprommashimpex foreseeing supply of 600 Altai tractors to Uzbekistan.

Demand for Deere farming equipment has reduced It’s been a good first quarter for Deere and Company, despite fewer profits from selling farm equipment. The company released their earnings report Tuesday, with an 11 percent earnings increase.

John Deere’s agriculture division did post some losses in recent months, though. The equipment manufacturer reported sales that were down 6-percent from the previous quarter. Deere’s analysts acknowledge that sales will likely stay down this year, as farmers are hit with high input costs.

Russian tractor manufacturer will be sold by auction Privolzhskoye dep-t of Russian Federal Property Fund (RFPF) reported about its plan to hold an auction to sell the federal share of JSC Cheboksary Industrial Tractor Factory (Promtraktor) amounting to 10 per cent of the registered capital.

The registered capital of the company equals to $3,389,301 and is divided into 964,968 common shares in non-documental form, including 723,726 common and 241,242 A-type preference shares. Nominal price is $3,5 per share. The register holder will be JSC

Tractor manufacturers celebrate a productive November Tractor sales for the month of November showed an increase over the previous year"s totals, but overall sales for the year continued to lag in comparison to 2004, according to the monthly report by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). In comparison with November 2004, sales two- and four-wheel drive tractors in all horsepower ranges were up - 2.2% for tractors below 40 hp, 2.5% in the 40 to 100 hp range and 0.5% for 100 hp and above. An agreement has been sealed to create a joint enterprise based on Kutaisi Automobile Plant to assemble low-duty tractors HTZ-2511.
