Challenger has added a number of new features to their MT700C and MT800C ranges, as well as their 4WD artic-steer MT900C series, including a new worldwide colour scheme of yellow, grey and black. Claas New Axos Range
Claas has replaced its sub-100hp Celtis tractors with the new Axos models. The four tractors - called the 310, 320, 330 and 340 - have power ratings of 75hp, 87hp, 92hp and 102hp respectively. There are three different spec levels - C, CL and CX versions. Axos models get a four-cylinder Perkins 1104D-44TA engine with 4.4-litre capacity and a mechanical injection system.

Vicon to introduce new square balers
Two new big square balers have joined the line-up of balers available from Vicon (Netherlands). The LB1270 and the LB1290 offer more capacity and produce bales with greater density, when compared with the LB 12200 and LB 12290 balers they now replace. Caterpillar New Compact Telehandlers
Caterpillar has launched three new telehandlers into the agricultural market. The TH255 super compact is designed to work in tight areas and comes with a load capacity of 2500kg, a maximum lift height of 5.6m and a capacity at maximum reach of 839kg. Despite its compact dimensions - which include a width of 1.82m, cab height of 1.9m and turning radius of 3.2m - the TH255 is claimed to have a spacious cab and be easy to get in and out of.

Canadian tractors will be assembled in South Russia

Sanctions are no threat to Belarusian tractors
Since early 2006, Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ), Belarus, increased production of tractors and machines by 21.8% compared to the same period of last year, which resulted in output of 25,301 items.
Totally during the mentioned period, the plant produced items worth $463 mln, which is 128.4% to the rates of first half of 2005.

Tractor plant to save Russia from fire
July 27, Chelyabinsk (Russia) will ship a large set of heavy anti-fire equipment by Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant to the most fire-exposed regions of Russia.
The supply of equipment to regions is performed within the framework of pilot project of sustained forest utilization organized by Russian Government and World Bank. Within the financing over 600 units of equipment have been already supplied to the most fire-hazardous regions during 2005 and the first half of 2006.

Belarusian expo BelAgro-2006 witnessed an unusual model demonstrated by Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ). This is 4,0 class MTZ-2002 agricultural tractor.
The new tractor is based on existing model MTZ-2022. Power unit has seen no changes, but the undercarriage, instead of pneumatic tyre, now features Canada-made track carts with cast rubber-armored tracks. Russian ag machinery manufacturer to take the crop on Mongolian fields
Russian agricultural equipment giant Rostselmash won a tender announced by Japanese International Cooperation System (JICS) and Ministry of Agriculture of Mongolia to supply grain combines to Mongolia. 26 Niva-Effect combines will be shipped to Mongolia within the next few weeks to participate in harvesting job (September-October 2006).

Japan to support Moldavian farmers
Moldavian farmers will be able to lease tractors. It became possible due to 100 Russian MTZ tractors purchased out of proceeds of Japanese grant of 230 mln yen (about $2 mln).
Tractors will be leased to farmers who will pay out their price within several years. Originally they will have to pay 40% of the price of machines, the rest will be paid in three portions.

Russian group of companies Promtractor reported intention to form a united corporate umbrella brand Chetra. Chetra trademark will include most products of Tractor Plants and Agromashholding enterprises.

Russian ag equipment manufacturer supports farmers with free diesel
Last autumn, Russian farming machinery manufacturer Rostselmash announced action in Udmurtian Republic, according to which enterprises that buy any combine produced by the company will get a bonus card for 3,000, 5,000 or 7,500 liters of diesel fuel (depending on the model).

New Holland switches to biodiesel
While a number of engine and equipment manufacturers have approved the use of biodiesel, until now most had limited their approval to the relatively small B2 (2% biofuel, 98% petroleum diesel) or B5 (5% biofuel, 95% petroleum diesel) blends. 600 Russian tractors for Uzbekistan
During commercial and economical visit of Altai Territory (Russia) representatives to Uzbekistan, a contract was signed for supply of 600 Russian tractors. Totally, 1,200 agricultural tractors are planned to be produced for Uzbekistan in 2006. During the visit, representatives of OJSC Alttrak had meetings and negotiations with Uzbek enterprises. The meetings resulted in a contract with Uzbek company Uzprommashimpex foreseeing supply of 600 Altai tractors to Uzbekistan.

Demand for Deere farming equipment has reduced
It’s been a good first quarter for Deere and Company, despite fewer profits from selling farm equipment. The company released their earnings report Tuesday, with an 11 percent earnings increase.
John Deere’s agriculture division did post some losses in recent months, though. The equipment manufacturer reported sales that were down 6-percent from the previous quarter. Deere’s analysts acknowledge that sales will likely stay down this year, as farmers are hit with high input costs.

Belarus reports growth in tractor output
According to its Planning and Economic department, Minsk Tractor Works (Belarus) increased in 2005 its tractor output rate by 22%, 42.158 units compared to the preceeding year.
The product output volume in 2005 has grown by 28.3% and amounts to $616 mln.
35189 tractors were exported in 2005 ( 22.4% growth) with revenues of $446.4 mln (21.6% growth).

Russian tractor manufacturer will be sold by auction
Privolzhskoye dep-t of Russian Federal Property Fund (RFPF) reported about its plan to hold an auction to sell the federal share of JSC Cheboksary Industrial Tractor Factory (Promtraktor) amounting to 10 per cent of the registered capital.

Tractor manufacturers celebrate a productive November
Tractor sales for the month of November showed an increase over the previous year"s totals, but overall sales for the year continued to lag in comparison to 2004, according to the monthly report by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). In comparison with November 2004, sales two- and four-wheel drive tractors in all horsepower ranges were up - 2.2% for tractors below 40 hp, 2.5% in the 40 to 100 hp range and 0.5% for 100 hp and above.
