Nissan dealers are standing by to take orders for the highly anticipated 2009 Nissan GT-R, but one selling point remains unclear: the GT-R`s certified horsepower rating. All the stated specifications up until now have been for the Japanese-market GT-R. It has been certified at 480 PS, which equates to 473 hp using the SAE standard in the U.S.
Nissan officials expect the 480-hp SAE when the car arrives stateside in June. Nissan GT-R is targeting 480 hp by U.S. testing standards. Nissan has already announced 2009 GT-R pricing will start at $69,850 for the base model, with a projected sales volume of just 1,500 cars per year.
