BMW has officially unveiled 2014 X5
BMW has launched the official information and images of the third-generation 2014 BMW X5. The updated crossover is looking recognizable as it closely follows its predecessors. However, the evolutionary design of the new generation includes such changers as prominent grille, aerodynamic front bumper, LED adaptive headlights.
The interior has not been changed significantly, but its design was improved using higher quality materials. BMW X5 features LED ambient lighting and freestanding display iDrive. Dimensions of the car have been increased and, consequently, the interior room, it can hold up to 1,870 liters of luggage.
As an option it is offered: comfortable sports seats, a reclining second row, as well as heating and ventilation of the front seats. Crossover can be equipped with four-zone climate control, a third row of seats, audio system Harman Kardon or Bang & Olufsen, as well as entertainment system with "tablet-style" displays for the rear passengers.
The engine range of the new BMW X5 includes three power units: X5 xDrive50i is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 450 hp (330 kW) and 650 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 5 seconds, and top speed is 250 km/h. The average fuel consumption is 10.4 - 10.5 l/100 km.
The X5 xDrive30d is equipped with a 3-liter six-cylinder twin turbo diesel engine providing 258 hp (190 kW) and 560 Nm of torque. With this engine the crossover can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 230 km/h. Due to fuel efficiency, the diesel unit averages 6.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
And finally, the BMW X5 M50d is powered by a 3-liter tri-turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine producing 381 hp and 740 Nm of torque. The car runs from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. Despite the impressive performance, the engine consumes just 6.7 liters per 100 km.
