Volkswagen has presented Passat BlueMotion concept
At the North American International Auto Show Volkswagen has launched its new Passat BlueMotion concept, designed to demonstrate the potential of petrol engines. The concept is powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder TSI engine with direct injection, start/stop system, as well as an Active Cylinder Management system, which at low speeds deactivates two cylinders. In addition, Passat BlueMotion features coasting function to enable the DSG transmission to decouple from the engine to reduce mechanical drag.
All these innovations allow the concept to have estimated highway fuel economy rating of of 5.6 liters per 100 km, while having an output of 150 hp and 249 Nm of torque.
Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion has received a modified grille, chrome elements and a rear spoiler. The two-tone interior features leather seats, carbon and gloss black accents.
