Next generation 2017 BMW X3
The launch of a new generation BMW X3 is scheduled for 2017. Crossover will receive a modular platform together with the next X4, which is expected to arrive on July 2018. Besides the crossover X3 will feature accommodating interior and improved seats.
BMW X3 engine range will get the usual four and six-cylinder engines with power increased by 15 hp (11 kW) and also inline six-cylinder twin-turbo units producing 360 hp (264 kW) for X3 M40i variant and 422 hp (310 kW) engine for the top version X3 M.
In addition, the X3 is expected to receive a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2-liter petrol engine providing 245 hp (180 kW) and a 95 hp electric motor, producing a combined maximum output of 300 PS (220 kW) and 700 Nm of torque. It should be noted that an electric only range is 50 km and an average fuel consumption of the hybrid model is 3.8 liters per 100 km.
