Pickfords, the UK’s leading removal company, has recently taken delivery of a left hand drive, low height Volvo FH–440 rigid truck, specified with a tandem-axled drawbar trailer. Pickfords’ FH-440 18-tonne prime mover has been specified with a 13-litre 440hp Euro 5 engine, using the latest SCR technology.
The vehicle also includes other extras including a 22-litre fridge, secondary Air Conditioning and Volvo’s celebrated I-Shift automated manual transmission. The body has been built by Transport Enterprises of Leicestershire. Pickfords currently have a fleet of over 400 vehicles nationwide - 180 of which are Volvo. In this company driver comfort was taken into consideration as drivers are typically away from home for three weeks at a time.
