Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. launched a new double-decker bus three years after suspending its production of such buses. The new Aero King Highway Liner, the only Japanese-developed double-decker bus, is designed for businesspeople, university students and retired baby boomers to enjoy comfortable bus journeys on expressways linking large cities.

The bus has six passenger seats on the lower deck and 30 on the upper deck. Each seat is independent, with a reclining system and a foot rest. The bus can offer first-class comfort for each passenger at lower cost. The new double-decker bus emits less exhaust gas than the previous model and is more fuel-efficient. It is priced at 72.66 million yen. The company has set an annual sales target of 25 units.
