TOSA electric articulated bus
A group of scientists from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) are developing a cost-efficient way to integrate the first electric bus TOSA, which runs without overhead lines. According to the creators, the bus recharges in 15 seconds during a stop while passengers disembark and embark. Energy is drawn from the grid and stored at the stations.
Many countries have already expressed interest to the following cutting-edge technology; more and more companies are choosing the electric transport. The first city to adopt innovative buses TOSA will be Geneva in 2017.
TOSA bus can carry up to 133 passengers; its battery is located on the roof and features twice the energy of an electric car battery.
