Chinese expansion reaches Ukraine
Lutsk automotive plant, Ukraine, and Chinese company Dong Feng have signed a contract, according to which a factory will be opened in Ukraine till the end of 2007 to produce various types of trucks.
Over $35 mln were invested in the establishment of new facility. Chinese partners will supply modern technological equipment and technical documentation and assist in performing commissioning jobs.
Annual capacity of the facility is 12,000 trucks with lifting capacity of 2 to 10

JCB rejects pacifism
JCB recently unveiled two, highly innovative high-speed military trucks as the company moves beyond its traditional construction equipment market to build on its sales success to military organizations worldwide. It is the first time in JCB’s history that the company has developed a truck designed for use as a military people carrier.
Both the High Mobility Variable Reach Truck (HMVRT) and High Mobility Utility Vehicle (HMUV) made their debuts at the UK’s Defense Vehicle Dynamics exhibition

Russia is a new home for Isuzu
July 11, 2006, Russian company Severstal-auto launched assembly of Isuzu NQR71P trucks with 5-ton capacity at production plant of Ulyanovsk automobile plant. Sales oft hid model in Russia will start since September 1 this year, its price will be $32,000. Totally, Severstal-auto plans to release 508 Isuzu vehicles by the end of 2006, and within next three years sales volume should reach 10,000 units.

MAN has unveiled new hauler with 8x4 wheel formula at CV Show in Birmingham. After long expectation TGA 32.390 BB is commercially available. The hauler is created for needs of construction industry. MAN expects the hauler to substitute the old F2000 Evolution (also with wheel 8x4 formula) and to inherit its advantages. Caterpillar Truck turned out to be a myth
During the Mid-America Trucking Show last week, Caterpillar"s vice president of Power Systems Marketing division, Jim Parker, dispelled rumors that the company was gearing up to manufacture trucks.
"We will not make trucks," says Parker. "We’re not looking to buy a truck manufacturer. We have no strategic intent to be in the truck business other than to serve our OEM customers."
