Nissan to supply trucks to Volvo
Nissan Motor Co., Japan"s second-biggest automaker, said it will supply light-duty trucks to Renault Trucks SAS, a unit of Sweden"s Volvo AB beginning in the first half of 2007. The trucks, which will share a platform with the next-generation Nissan Cabstar and Atlas models, will be built at Nissan"s truck plant in Avila, Spain, Nissan said in a statement.

India-Belorussia: traction units in exchange for Ceylon tea
At the moment the question of supply of 300 traction units from Belorussia to India is being considered. The MAZ traction units are planned to be supplied through West End Motors Ltd. with taking into account Indian right-sided steering requirements.

Caterpillar recalls thousand engines
International Truck and Engine is recalling International 5000 and International 9000 trucks from model years 2004 and 2005 that have Caterpillar engines – 1,371 trucks in all.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued the recall in December because on certain engines, the variable valve actuation oil line could wear against the cylinder head and break the line if not positioned correctly. An oil leak and fire could result.

International revives PayStar brand
All International Truck and Engine’s 5000 Series trucks will now go by the name PayStar, the company announced.
International introduced its trucks and tractors under the PayStar name in the late 1970s to fit in with the company’s Transtar, Fleetstar, Loadstar and Cargostar truck lines. Several of International’s most respected severe service vehicles carried the moniker until 1998, when they were re-named the 5000 Series. These included the 5500, 5600, and 5900.
