Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has announced a significant new addition to its popular Zaxis-3 range of excavators – the ZX14-3 – highlighting a new level of performance. Filling an important gap in the 1-2 tone class, the new model has been developed to compete in the general construction sector and strengthens the leading Japanese manufacturer’s position in the mini excavator market. The ZX14-3 is a basic, no-nonsense model that is extremely easy to operate. Compact and light in design, the new model can be transported by trailer and is small enough to work in confined spaces.
Hitachi has equipped the new ZX14-3 mini excavator with a powerful – yet economical – and durable engine. The three-cylinder 10.7 kW powerplant and larger exhaust capacity help to reduce fuel consumption and comply with the new European Stage III A emission regulations. The large 22-litre capacity fuel tank increases operating time and productivity as a result. Hitachi is working towards the ultimate combination of man and machine – with the emphasis on comfort and safety. The operator is very much in the driving seat with excellent all-round visibility due to the enlarged window surface. Operator comfort and control are enhanced by a comprehensive dashboard with an easy-to-view monitor. The display can be used to check information such as maintenance intervals and fuel consumption figures.
