In August 2006 KAMAZ-Diesel, a subsidiary of Russian truck giant KAMAZ, manufactured and delivered to its customers 5,000 engines.
Such a high volume of engine output in one month period has been reached for the first time since fire of April 1993. That fire disabled almost all technological equipment of engine plant, today known as KAMAZ-Diesel. During 2002-2003 the company completed general modernization of its equipment, due to the notorious “Japanese credit”.
In August, 4,089 power units were produced for needs of KAMAZ main conveyor. Other engines were produced by order of side customers or as repair kits. Today, all diesel and gas engines produced by KAMAZ-Diesel for KAMAZ vehicles comply with requirements of international environmental standard Euro II. KAMAZ was first in Russia to produce and certificate Euro III engines with capacity range from 280 to 400 hp.
One should mention another achievement of production and commercial departments of KAMAZ. 3,988 trucks left main assembly line of the company. Final results of shipment and sales have not been yet calculated, but their volume may exceed 4,000 units due to realization of products of recent months.
