Strong export growth led Manitou`s first-half 2006 net sales of €584.4 million, a 10% year-on-year rise. Operating profit rose 12.8% to €75.0 million for the period.
The French company said sales outside the EU rose 29.5%, reflecting efforts to “…increase its involvement in those markets [with] great potential.” Sales in the EU, excluding France, rose 15.3%, whilst performance in its home market remained "steady".
Manitou said it hoped to report 13% revenue growth for the year as a whole, "with orders at the end of August growing significantly and with the anticipation that there will be an excellent set of net sales figures in the final four-month period of the year".
