Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd will set up local offices in Russia and India on January 1 to expand sales in the two emerging markets.
Kawasaki aims to increase sales of construction equipment and robots in Russia, as well as railroad cars and motorcycles in India.
The new offices will be located in Moscow and Delhi, and will be responsible for market research and sales under the direct control of Tokyo headquarters.
The company already has some operations in Russia and India, such as providing technology to Indian motorcycle manufacturers, but it aims to gain a stronger foothold in the two countries.
