British engineering group JCB rejected idea of purchasing Jaguar after negotiations with Ford Motor Co.
Already in August, JCB expressed initial interest in Jaguar brand.
Sir Anthony Bamford , JCB president, reported that the main obstacle was tight cooperation between Jaguar and Land Rover, and he was not interested in acquiring both companies.
Mr Bamford also announced intention to terminate the agreement to purchase Aston Martin. Ford tends to sell Aston Martin to receive free funds for financing other divisions.
In the second quarter of 2006, losses in of Premier Automotive Group, Ford`s division controlling Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Aston Martin brands, totaled $162 mln.
