Workers at the Bobcat Co. construction equipment factory here have voted to end their two-week strike, the company said.
In a brief statement Friday, the company said employees of the United Steelworkers Local 566 accepted a revised contract offer. The local represents about 780 of the Bismarck factory"s 1,100 workers.
A union attorney did not return telephone calls and e-mail messages left for comment. The company"s statement did not give details of the new contract, and a spokeswoman did not immediately return telephone messages left for comment.
Bobcat workers went on strike Oct. 7 in a dispute over wages and health care costs. The union also sought changes in the company"s mandatory overtime and sick-leave policies.
The plant"s Bismarck employees will begin returning to work Saturday, with full operations resuming by Tuesday, the company"s statement said.
"The agreement balances the union"s interest in addressing health insurance costs with the need to promote the long-term economic health of the business in an environment of strong global competition," the statement said.
