In order to further ESCO`s goal of expanding into the Asian market and efficiently reaching regional customers, the corporation recently opened its state-of-the-art Chinese manufacturing facility in the heavy machinery industrial zone of Xuzhou.

The Xuzhou plant will produce small metal castings from 20 to 150 pounds and employ 150 workers. Products manufactured at the plant will be distributed throughout Asia, in addition to customers worldwide.

ESCO plans to utilize lean manufacturing methods at the Xuzhou plant, as well as standards that focus on safety, quality, speed-to-market and the environment.

The new facility is part of ESCO`s Engineered Products group, which produces metal wear parts, components and earthmoving products used in global mining, construction and other industrial applications.

ESCO is headquartered in Portland, USA, and employs 3,200 employees worldwide.
