Uzbek-Belarusian joint company UzBelDizel commenced the assembly of diesel engines in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, said Vladimir Adulov, general director of the company. According to him, by the end of this year, near 300 engines will be assembled for Tashkent tractor plant.
Mr. Adylov said that during the first phase, the engines will be assembled from components delivered from Russia and Belarus. In 2007 the joint company plans to introduce assembly line for production of basic components, including engine body and crankshaft. By 2009 the level of localization of the company is expected to reach 50%.
