Hitachi and Komatsu fight for RussiaHitachi and Komatsu fight for Russia.

Hitachi Construction Machinery, one of Japan`s biggest hydraulic excavator manufacturer, plans to build several plants in Russia. The intention was expressed by Yasuhiko Nakaura, HCM`s vice president.

The negotiations with Russian party are planned to start in the first half of 2007, in 2008 Hitachi intends to build the first plant. The plant will operate within joint venture with TSC, main distributor of Hitachi products in Moscow. According to Nakaura, the company wants to establish production facilities in western and eastern parts of Russia.

Meanwhile, Komatsu, Japan`s #1 in sales of construction equipment, also plans to launch its production in Russia. Today it only supplies plate metal for Russian machinery manufacturers.
