Engineering group Hitachi has announced it will form the integrated business venture Hitachi Plant Technologies from amalgamating Hitachi Ltd, Hitachi Plant Engineering & Construction, Hitachi Kiden Kogyo and Hitachi Industries.
Hitachi also announced the appointment of executive vice president and executive officer Masaharu Sumikawa as president and chief executive of the new integrated company that will be formed officially on April 1 next year.

Atlas Copco reports strong quarter

SWEDISH producer of construction equipment Atlas Copco has reported its third quarter as stronger than ever.

It said record sales and profits had strengthened its market position in its four business areas of compressed-air equipment and generators, construction and mining equipment, industrial tools and assembly systems.

President and chief executive Gunnar Brock said all product lines had shown promising growth, with orders up 25% to 1.43 billion kronor ($2.4

Continuing to meet strong customer demand worldwide, Caterpillar Inc. has reported third-quarter sales and revenues of $8.977 billion and profit of $667 million, or $0.94 per share. Both sales and revenues and profit per share are the highest in the company"s history for a third quarter.

All Island President Tours Takeuchi Facility, Admires Original Skid Steer

Gary Wade, president of All Island Equipment in New York, recently traveled to Takeuchi"s North American headquarters in Atlanta, GA, for additional product training. While touring the facility, he also was given the opportunity to view the first Takeuchi rubber-tracked loader ever produced.
