Cummins Records
Cummins Inc. has released results for 2007, completing a year of record sales and earnings. Cummins` sales rose 15 percent to $13.05 billion, from $11.36 billion in 2006. Net income rose to $739 million compared to $715 million.

Volvo Extends Cummins ISX
Volvo Trucks North America announced it will offer the 15 L Cummins ISX engine certified for 2010 emissions standards in the Volvo VN. This is an extension of an existing agreement between Volvo and Cummins Inc. Customers want to have both the Cummins ISX and the Volvo engine family available in 2010.

Strike at Volvo Trucks New River Valley Plant
World number-two truck maker Volvo production at its New River Valley plant in Virginia had been halted after 2,600 workers at the U.S. factory went out on strike. The two sides were in negotiations for a new contract since Jan. 8, but when the existing contract ended on Jan. 31 with no agreement reached, the union called the job action.

Cummins Filtration With Nanotechnology
Cummins Filtration announced that it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Elmarco, a Czech nanotechnology designer. The strategic objective of the agreement is to develop nanofiber media technologies that will to allow Cummins Filtration to better serve global application needs in motor vehicle and related filtration systems.

Caterpillar to expand Service Parts Distribution
Caterpillar (USA) has announced the beginning of a long-term enhancement of its service parts distribution network throughout North America. First of all, Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc. plans to open a new parts distribution center in Waco, Texas.
