Minority groups prefer Caterpillar
US "Minority Engineer" magazine readers ranked Caterpillar fourth out of 50 top places to work. They ranked the employers based on which place they would most like to work or which one they believed provided a positive working environment for minority groups.
Caterpillar ranked sixth last year on the magazine"s list. Employers were ranked by the frequency they were cited by respondents to a 2005 Annual Career Preference Survey.

MAN to get closer to USA
According to press reports in Europe, German engine and truck manufacturer MAN AG would like an even closer relationship with Navistar International Corp., an interest that could MAN said could include an equity position in its U.S. partner.
The European reports said an MAN spokesman confirmed remarks to this effect by MAN Chief Executive Hakan Samuelsson in an interview with the Swedish business daily Dagens Industri, but added no talks were under way at this stage.

Ecot3 engines will be fed with Komatsu-branded lubricants
Komatsu Australia has launched a range of oils and greases specially formulated to meet the needs of Komatsu"s new ecot3 Tier III-compliant engines as well as earlier-generation engines and hydraulics, transmissions and other components.
The company said the new lubricants were designed to ensure longer life, reduced downtime and increased reliability, not only in Komatsu"s ecot3 engines, but also in previous-generation engines.

JLG revenues grow telescopically
US equipment manufacturer JLG Industries has reported its profit in the latest quarter more than doubled as it continues to benefit from the strong US non-residential building market.
The company, which makes telehandlers and the Manlift and Toucan brands of aerial work platforms such as scissor and boom lifts, reported net income of $US46.2 million up from $US22.7 million a year earlier.
Sales also rose 25% to $US630 million.
