Prentice (USA) is introducing a new bunching saw, the SH-50 that incorporates innovative bunching technology to increase loggers’ productivity. The SH-50 features the Strait Grip bunching finger (patent pending) that tucks trees into the saw pocket, keeping the tops together and creating tight bunches. This allows the operator to bunch and control more trees before piling.
In addition to increased productivity, structural enhancements lower operating costs. Extensive field tests, plus computer and lab stress tests, were conducted to prove the structure’s strength, reliability and longevity. For even longer structural life, PRETEX abrasion-resistant steel is an available option. Tests prove that PRETEX will last longer and is cheaper to replace than other material.
The Prentice SH-50 is easy to maintain. Motor covers can be completely removed for service and an opening provides access to clean the disc. Grease fittings are positioned for easy access and quick servicing.
