Peterson Portable Sawmills (New Zealand) have been dealing direct with their customers in the USA for over 10 years. The company continues its steady rise within the sawmilling industry worldwide. The company has just announced the addition of three more powerful motors that can be fitted to their existing range of mills.
Peterson’s mills can now be purchased with either a 30hp or 38hp Kohler gas motor – where previously, motor options only went as high as 27hp. The higher horsepower means that the customer can keep a more consistent cutting speed when milling dense logs or making large cuts, and get an even smoother cut when milling soft wood.
Increased horsepower isn’t the only thing the company has been focusing on; they have also added a new type of motor to their options list. Due to increasing gas prices and customer feedback, Petersons have spent the past year extensively testing a diesel option. The new 23hp Lombardini Diesel motor can be fit to 10” All Terrain Sawmill (ATS) models, which means these models now have more torque and less fuel cost.
