Major enhancements to the Caterpillar track feller bunchers have resulted in significant advances in multi-functioning, maneuverability, tractive power and saw recovery time. Upgrades to the IQAN and hydraulic control systems that manage engine horsepower and hydraulic flow-sharing have produced a 40% improvement in the machine’s implement and travel multi-functioning ability. With the new IQAN software, operators can customize the joystick control pattern to their liking. Over 1,000 control patterns are available. Also, the operator can choose to have the hydraulic oil level monitored continuously or checked only at start up.
The Cat track feller bunchers are powered by Cat C9 Tier II-compliant engines with ACERT Technology. Fuel economy of Cat engines with ACERT Technology is 3% to 5% better than competing technologies. The technology integrates the electronic controls that monitor engine conditions, the air management system and the fuel injection system, resulting in the complete combustion of fuel.
