Genie has launched its new 17 metre/4,000 kg GTH-4017 SX telehandler, paying specific attention to making it compact for congested job sites and tailoring it to the rental industry. The new unit offers a maximum lift height of 17.19 meters, maximum lift capacity of 4,000 kg and can take 700 kg out to its maximum forward reach of 13.3 meters. Maneuverability improvements include an improved turning radius of 2.42 meters inside/ 4.65 meters outside. The 4017 boasts a 2.32 meters overall width and 2.44 meters overall height, while a new four section boom reduces the overall length as well as stepping up telescope speeds.
The new model also includes a dedicated stability control system, now standard on all Genie telehandlers. The GTH-4017 SX features a new-generation cabin for improved operator comfort and productivity, placing controls and load charts within easy reach. Controls are on an easy to use multi-function 4x1 joystick. The power train now includes a new smoother hydrostatic transmission matched to an electronically controlled 101 hp Tier 3 engine. The new model is manufactured at the company’s plant in Perugia, Italy and will be sold throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, South America, Australia and parts of Asia.
