Chinese construction equipment machinery manufacturer Sany has shown off the prototype of China`s largest crane at the Bauma China fair, the 1,000t-capacity SCC 10000. Testing will be finished in three months. The crane`s maximum main boom is 120m long, and its maximum system length with jib is 96m + 96m. The massive crane has a 597kW Euro I-compliant engine (at 2,100rpm). 

New Cranes from KATO At the Bauma China show in Shanghai, Kato is showing 70t rough terrain cranes and new traditional truck cranes mounted on Chinese-made carriers. The Kato NK-550V is a 55t hydraulic truck crane with 43m boom mounted an FAW chassis and FAW Euro Tier III engine with 258kW (at 2,100rpm). A Euro II-compliant engine has been available since 2007; a new version with Tier III engine has just been released. Kato assembles the crane in Japan. 

New crane on Bauma China Chinese crawler crane and truck crane manufacturer Sany has shown a prototype of its first all-terrain crane, the QAY 220, at Bauma China. Unlike similar all-terrain cranes made by rivals Zoomlion and XCMG, the crane runs on five, not six, axles. 

Hitachi Sumitomo 90 tone SCX900-2 Crawler Crane Hitachi Sumitomo has launched a heavy duty version of its 90 tone capacity SCX900-2 crawler crane. The SCX900HD-2 has a 60 m maximum boom and a 272 kW engine for heavy duty application. The front and rear main winches have 28 mm diameter wire rope and 25 tone line pull.  

New Liebherr LTM1100-4.2 All Terrain Crane Liebherr has unveiled its new LTM1100-4.2 100 tone all terrain crane with longer boom and higher lift capacities. The new crane replaces the popular LTM1100-4.1. It includes a new seven section 60 meter pinned main boom, eight meters longer than its predecessor. When fully rigged the crane offers a maximum under hook height of 91 meters and a radius of up to 58 meters.  

Raimondi MRT 126 Topless Crane A new topless city crane, the MRT 126, makes its debut at SAIE, in Bologna. The new model fills a gap in the company`s range, between the MRT 111 and MRT 156, both of which have a lifting capacity of 8t. With a maximum lifting capacity of 10t, MRT126 lifts 1.76t (with Ultralift System) at the tip of its 60m jib.  

ALE Heavylift Record Heavy Lifter Dutch-based ALE Heavylift has unveiled its new AL.SK90 machine capable of lifting loads up to 4,300 tones. The unit has been designed and built by ALE specifically for a petrol chemical contract in Saudi Arabia with a view to being able to lift a 100 meter long, 3,000 tone item. With little modification - widening the base - the unit can offer an increased lifting capacity of 5,000 tones - AL.SK120.  

Cat Lift Trucks Order Pickers New Heights A brand new, completely redesigned model of high level order picker has been made available by Cat Lift Trucks that provides class-leading lift heights – giving operators one of the most flexible, operator-friendly and productive trucks on the market. The 48V NOH10NH has a platform height of 10.0m – a full meter more than the model it replaces – and is one of two brand new high level order pickers just being introduced by Cat Lift Trucks, the other being the 24V NOH10N which lifts to a very respectable 8.1m – over 3.0m more than the model it replaces.  

New Products from Skyjack and Genie Both Genie and Skyjack will unveil new boom lifts and self propelled mast type lifts at APEX. Skyjack will unveil its first articulated boom lift, the SJ46AJ, a 46ft platform height machine with similar lifting mechanism to the popular Genie Z45/25J, however the unit offers improved up and over reach, 360 continuous rotation as well as incorporating many of the features for which the company is known.  

Manitowoc Fifth Five Axle Crane GMK 5110-1 Manitowoc has launched a new five axle all terrain, the GMK 5110-1, at an event at its Wilhelmshaven, Germany, manufacturing plant. The new crane has a maximum capacity of 110t, and a 51m meter boom. It has been designed to replace the highly popular 100t GMK 5100, the last of which left the factory a few months ago.  

UpRight to present its X80ND scissor lift UpRight has unveiled a new 80ft platform height heavy duty scissor lift which will be on display at APEX. The UpRight X80ND is a narrow (N), diesel-powered (D) scissor designed and built by its new partner Omega lift. It is just 1.24 metres wide with a 600kg lift capacity. The unit is equipped with four leveling jacks to allow it to operate on sloping ground. 

LM Series telehandlers from New Holland New Holland Construction has released a new line of LM Series telehandlers. All four models are built at the New Holland factory in Italy, and lift capacity ranges from 3200kg on the LM732 to 6000kg on the LM1060.  

Boecker AHK 30/1600 Trailer Crane CraneTech Solutions has announced the introduction of its Boecker aluminium AHK 30/1600 trailer crane in to the North American market. The Boecker trailer crane is an economically interesting alternative for the crane service industry. With operation exceeding 100 feet (30 m), and payload capacity exceeding 3,300 pounds (1.5 tones), the 7,500 pound (3.4 tone) trailer crane can fulfill the day-to-day needs of mechanical, utility, roofing, and building contractors and tree service industry.  

Penny Hydraulics New Fully Hydraulic Vehicle Mounted Crane FV1200 The new Swing Lift Foldaway 1200 (FV1200) from Penny Hydraulics is a fully hydraulic 1200kg capacity vehicle mounted crane designed for 3.5t commercial vehicles. Self-contained hydraulics provide full 360 degree slew rotation with powered boom raise and lower for controlled handling.  

New tower crane from Wolffkran Tower crane manufacturer Wolffkran in Germany has launched the Wolff 224 B luffing jib tower crane. It is an improved version of the established 180 B including complete reengineering of the hoisting winch and its jib system.  

Abnormal Load Engineering 4,300t Capacity Crane SK 90 Abnormal Load Engineering is planning to demonstrate the first crane the 4,300t (4,740 US ton) capacity SK 90 at a customer event in Breda, Netherlands in September. The crane will have a maximum boom length of 148m (486ft) main boom and 48m (157ft) backmast. It can lift rated capacity using four strand jacks mounted at the boom tip, a similar arrangement to Mammoet`s MSG 80 crane, which has a maximum capacity of 3,070t. 

Battery - Powered Scissor Lift 4188EX Man & Material Lift Engineering recently added the 4188EX scissor lift to its EX line of battery-powered scissor lifts. The 70”x138” platform has a 1,700-pound platform capacity and a work height of 47 feet with a 4-foot extension deck. The 4188EX scissor lift has a platform height of 41 feet and ground clearance of 8 inches. 

Kato High-Speed Rough Terrain Crane SR-250R Kato has launched a 25t capacity, two-axle high-speed rough terrain crane for the Japanese domestic market. The crane is compliant with Japanese road regulations that have just come into force. The SR-250R Premium Roughter has a three-stage 30.5m boom, and can lift 25t at 3.5m radius.  

Sennebogen 835: Excellent load capacities Sennebogen 835 Mobile units are used for heavy coal handling applications in Murmansk, the main base for the Russian North Sea Fleet. The wagons are quickly and economically unloaded by the Sennebogen machines with 1.5 - 2.0 m3 clamshell. The clam-shell is equipped with special teeth to break through the frozen layers. The extended reach in combination with excellent load capacities were important criteria in making the decision for the Sennebogen 835 machines.  

New tower cranes from Linden Comansa This summer the 11 LC 90 in 5 and 6 tonne maximum load versions is available now from the Spanish manufacturer Linden Comansa. The other four models will be available from September. These will be the 5 and 6 tonne capacity versions of the 11 LC 132, and the 11 LC 150 and 11 LC 160, both 8 tonnes capacity. Maximum radius ranges from 52.5 m to 65 m and jib-end load is from 1.2 to 1.7 tonnes. 

New Cranes from Terex The new Terex Bendini RC 30 will replace the A300 that was originally introduced in 1985 (with a lifting capacity of 25 tones) as the 25 Beta which developed into the A300 (with a lifting capacity of 30 tons) in 1997. The new 30-ton machine provides a three-stage telescopic boom with a maximum hook height of 27.4 meters.  

Giraffa 210: New work platform from Italy Italian crane manufacturer Leader has launched the new Giraffa 210, 21 metre telescopic truck mounted work platform. The 210 offers a maximum working height of 21.1 metres with a two person – 200kg capacity, full 180 degree platform rotation and up to 11 metres of outreach depending on weight in the platform: 7.5 metres with 200 kgs, 9.5 metres with 120 kgs and 11 meters with 80 kgs.  

Spierings New Crawler Mounted Crane SK2400-R Spierings the Dutch based manufacturer of mobile self erecting tower cranes held an open day on late June to launch its new SK2400-R crawler mounted crane, while also formally opening its new production halls which came into operation earlier in the year. The new SK2400R takes the Spierings range up to six models, five mounted on All Terrain chassis and the new unit on tracks.  

Oil&Steel Truck Mounted Platform 2010 Compact Oil&Steel has launched the 20 m working height 2010 Compact to expand its Snake line of 3.5 t truck mounted platforms to four models. The new model fits, in terms of size, between the Snake 189 and Snake 2112 Smart models but offers a different working envelope and a novel stabilization concept.  

The New Genie GTH 4017-SX Telehandler Genie has launched its new 17 metre/4,000 kg GTH-4017 SX telehandler, paying specific attention to making it compact for congested job sites and tailoring it to the rental industry. The new unit offers a maximum lift height of 17.19 meters, maximum lift capacity of 4,000 kg and can take 700 kg out to its maximum forward reach of 13.3 meters. 

TCM Rough Terrain Crane RTCW 35 Italian crane manufacturer TCM has launched its first rough-terrain crane, the 35t capacity RTCW 35. The crane features a four-section 32.6m octagonal boom. On outriggers, it can lift its maximum capacity of 35t at 3m with six falls of rope and 5.5t of counterweight. With the same counterweight, it can pick and carry 5t. 

Manitowoc Self-Erector Igo 42 Manitowoc tower crane brand Potain launched the latest in its series of Igo self-erectors in Paris. The new crane replaces the HD 40, towards the top of the company’s range of self erectors. It has a maximum radius of 36m, lifting 1,100kg at the jib end; its overall maximum load is 4t. It fills a gap in the Igo range between the 32m maximum radius Igo 36 and 40m maximum radius Igo 50.  

Kobelco High-Speed Rough Terrain Crane Panther-X 250 Kobelco has launched a 25t-capacity high-speed rough terrain crane for the Japanese market, the Panther-X 250. The boom-down rough terrain crane features a six-stage 30m boom, and at full extension can lift 7t with four falls of rope. It can lift maximum capacity of 25t at 7.3m with seven falls of rope. It also features a 6/9/12m jib. 

CTE CS 135E Spider Lift The CTE CS 135E spider is now being introduced to the North American market. CTE is modifying the unit according to ANSI standards, as it previously met European EN 280 standards. With a working height of almost 43 feet, the CS 135E has a capacity of 440 pounds and a working radius of almost 22 feet.  

Penny Hydraulics First Fully Hydraulic Vehicle Mounted Crane The new hydraulic Foldaway 500 (FV500) is the first fully hydraulic 500kg capacity Swing Lift vehicle mounted crane from Penny Hydraulics. Designed for a wide range of load handling applications including service, engineering and deliveries the FV500 is also believed to be the first fully-hydraulic vehicle mounted crane in the 500kg performance class.  

Bronto Giant Bronto, the Finnish based manufacturer of truck mounted lifts and fire fighting appliances, is working on a larger version of its 101 meter working height S101 HLA which will, when launched, retake the title of the world’s highest reaching aerial lift. The new model will be based on the 101 and is expected to be very close to its overall length of just under 17 meters.  

Caterpillar New Telehandlers Caterpillar has launched three new telehandlers with lift heights from 6.1 to 9.2 meters. The Cat TH406 has a load capacity of 3700kg, a lift height of 6.1 meters and a forward reach of 3.1 meters. The Cat TH407 has a load capacity of 3700kg, a lift height of 7.3 meters and a forward reach of 3.7 meters.  

Vanson Tower Cranes Vanson Cranes will use this year’s SED show to promote the considerable operational and cost savings advantages of its VC tower crane range. On show will be Vanson’s retractable loading bays and the VC27 and VC33 self erecting tower cranes, which offer simple and efficient operation. The VC27 has a capacity to lift 2,200kg from 2m to 12.13m meter radius reducing to 850kg at a 27 meter radius and has a hook height of 23 meters in the horizontal position, with a maximum luffed height of 31.4 meters. 

Liebherr TL 435-13 Telehandler During Liebherr`s attendance at SED 2008 the company will display one of its new telehandlers, a model TL 435-13. This is one of a range of four models and has a maximum lift capacity of 3.50 tones and 13 meters reach. Stable and powerful, especially in the upper ranges of their reach, Liebherr telehandlers are powered by the same turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel engine developing 80kW. 

Manitou New MLT 735 Telehandler Manitou North America has announced the addition of its MLT 735 telehandler that replaces its MLT 634 and MLT 741 units. Part of the “Evolution” series, the 735 combines the features of its predecessors, as well as new. Value added benefits include an improved light package, improvements to the air conditioning system and the addition of the new JSM joystick.  

New Offshore Crane Liebherr MTC 78000 Liebherr has announced plans for a new offshore crane, the MTC 78000, with a load moment of 78,000tm, will be one of one of the biggest offshore slewing cranes worldwide. The MTC 78000 achieves a maximum lifting capacity of 1,600t at up to 35m radius while still being able to slew over 360°.  

Newcomer Altux Enters Market Altux chose the Spanish construction exhibition, SMOPyC, to show its products for the first time. Altux showed three models of diesel scissor lifts: DX112, DX115 and DX118 with maximum working heights of 12 m, 15 m and 18 m respectively, and two types of electrical scissor: EX110 and EX112 offering 10 m and 12 m working heights.  

Snorkel AB46E Articulated Boom The first production models of Snorkel’s improved AB46E articulated booms are about to start rolling off the lines at the company’s Kansas factory. Kansas will start producing European models to CE specifications in the first week of May, while the Vigo Centre in the UK will follow shortly. 

Liebherr 150 tone capacity crane LTM 1150-6.1 Liebherr (Germany) unveiled a new 150 tone capacity, six-axle all terrain crane at the SMOPyC exhibition. The LTM 1150-6.1 offers a 66 m telescopic boom, the longest in its class. It has a maximum hook height of 93 m with extensions and a double swingaway jib. At a boom length of 60 m the crane can lift up to 11 tones. At full reach the boom can lift 7.7 tones.  

Telescopic Service Crane Stellar 12628 Stellar Industries (USA) is introducing the Model 12628 telescopic service crane. An industry first in capacity and functionality, this new 66,000 ft-lb crane boasts a maximum hydraulic reach of 28’6” and can lift up to 12,000 pounds at 5.5 feet.  

Gottwald Mobile Harbour Crane Gangavaram Port in India, has taken delivery of two G HMK 6407 B mobile harbour cranes from Gottwald Port Technology. The pair marks the first Generation 5 Model 6 cranes to be introduced in India, bringing the overall number of Gottwald mobile harbour cranes sold to the market to 15, comprising 11 new and four used cranes. 

Saez Motion to enter the North American market Spanish manufacturer of tower cranes and formworks Saez Motion plans to enter the North American market by showcasing its SZ 306 telehandler. The company began developing its telehandler five years ago. Presently, the company has two handler models available.  

Manitowoc to upgrade Grove truck crane The new model TMS9000E of Manitowoc (USA) will replace the TMS900E in Grove’s truck crane line. The 110 USt capacity crane has a 36 ft. to 142 ft. five-section, full-power boom featuring Grove’s MEGAFORM shaping for improved strength and rigidity. The boom also features Manitowoc’s patented TWIN-LOCK boom-pinning technology. 

Ausa to introduce compact telehandler Spanish manufacturer Ausa has launched its compact handler, the Tauralift T 204 H. A low-pivot boom machine has a load capacity of 4,400 pounds with a maximum lifting height of 13 feet, 9 inches. This is the first telescopic handler from the company, which is primarily known for its straight mast forklifts, small utility machines and concrete mixers.  

Manitex Long-Boom Truck 50110S Manitex (USA) has added a second model to its 5002S boom truck series. The 50110S is a 50-ton boom truck featuring a five-section, 110-foot boom. The 50110S can lift as much as 3,660 pounds at a 100-foot radius and close to 1,000 pounds at a 150-foot radius. 

Kenworth chassis for Liebherr crane Liebherr (Germany) has shown a U.S.-version of its LTF 1045-4.1 truck crane. The 55-ton, four-axle machine with a 115-foot telescopic boom is mounted on a Kenworth chassis. Its axle loads are lower than comparable all-terrain cranes and it can be driven on public roads. 

The Heaviest Material Handler Sennebogen 880 EQ The Sennebogen 880 EQ is the heaviest machine that has ever been developed and manufactured by Sennebogen. The 880 EQ with rail undercarriage will be the main machine for loading ships up to 60,000 GRT. The 880 EQ can reach up to 33 m and can load ca 14t at a reach of 26m. With the 10.5 m width and 6 m high rail undercarriage. 

Link-Belt RTC-80130 II Series Rough-Terrain Crane The new Link-Belt (USA) RTC-80130 Series II 130-ton rough-terrain crane is the largest rough-terrain Link-Belt has ever produced. The new crane uses a five-section, 162-foot formed boom that is constructed of extra-high-tensile steel and has one double-acting, single-stage hydraulic cylinder with integrated holding valves. 

Link-Belt 500t Crawler Crane 548 HSL Link-Belt (USA) has launched the prototype of the 500ton 548 HSL crawler crane at ConExpo. Preliminary specs call for a 24-48m heavy boom, and 42m-108m light boom. The crane is powered by an Isuzu engine that generates 560hp at 2,000 rpm. 

Link-Belt Truck Crane HTC-3140LB Link-Belt (USA) has shown a first prototype of the 127 ton - capacity HTC-3140LB, the largest truck crane in the USA at the ConExpo show. The crane has a 59m formed boom, and a new three-piece fly jib. When integrated with optional three-piece bi-fold lattice fly and three extensions, reach extends to 311 feet. 

Manitowoc to introduce its new truck crane Manitowoc (USA) has introduced its new truck crane, the Grove TM500E-2. The new truck crane has two engines. The highway carrier features a Cummins ISC 300 hp diesel and a Cummins QSB 3.3L 110 hp off-road diesel engine powers the superstructure. 

Manitowoc Crawler Crane Manitowoc’s (USA) new 2,535-ton Model 31000 is designed to drastically improve the operation of a heavy-lift crawler crane with its innovative moving counterweight tray. The 31000 was officially launched at ConExpo. The 31000 includes the Variable Position Counterweight (VPC). Because the VPC never touches the ground under normal working conditions, the amount of ground preparation work needed with a typical lift-enhancing attachment is greatly reduced. 

New Holland Launched New Telehandler LM1060 New Holland («CHN» USA) unveiled its new telehandler - the 600kg to 10 meter LM1060 - at Samoter 2008. The company has high hopes for the LM1060; the machine is aimed at sites with restricted room needing a unit with good manoeuvrability. The machine has a spacious cab and good visibility. 

JCB Unveils New HiViz Loadall Telehandlers JCB (UK) unveiled a major advance in the design of its machines with the launch of two new low boom Loadalls, which offer visibility and productivity improvements. Visibility on the new Loadall 535-125 HiViz and 535-140 HiViz models has improved by 10 percent, particularly to the rear of the machines, compared to the models they replace. This has been achieved by a reduction of 9.5 inches in the boom pin pivot height. 

Rough-terrain Crane Grove RT540E from Manitowoc The rough-terrain crane Grove RT540E from Manitowoc (USA) will be on display at CONEXPO 2008. The crane features dual-axis, electronic joysticks and a sleeker, more modern cab. The new cab and controls improve operator comfort and productivity. Operators can easily view gauges for all engine functions on the control panel in the dash. The joysticks provide smoother control.  

Sennebogen 825 D to sort industrial waste and scrap Industrial waste, scrap and metal is sorted by the 825 from the new D series of Sennebogen (Germany). The 825 is responsible for unloading trucks, sorting and for feeding a Taurus scrap cutter. The machine is mounted on a rail-car undercarriage, which makes it possible to feed the scrap cutters on one side and to sort scrap and metal on the other.  

Topless Tower crane from Potain Manitowoc (USA) will introduce the topless tower crane from Potain at CONEXPO 2008, March 11-15 in Las Vegas. The MDT 268 has an improved reach and numerous features to simplify and speed up the erection and dismantle process. The crane is available in a J10 version with an 11 USt maximum capacity and a J12 version with a 13.2 USt maximum capacity.  

New Stellar Industries Service Crane US service equipment manufacturer Stellar Industries launches 3,200 lb (1.45t) capacity electric/hydraulic service crane. The crane has 15ft of reach in a 8ft stowed length and 2ft of stowed height. The EC3200, claimed to be the first to include a radio remote control as standard. It also features a special mounting configuration to fix on a body with 14in or 20in deep compartments. 

New Kobelco Crawler Crane CKE1100 Kobelco Cranes will unveil a new 110 tone capacity crawler crane during SMOPyC exhibition in Spain. The CKE1100 has a main boom length of 15.2 to 70.1m, with a maximum rated load of 110 tones. There is also the option of fixed jib combinations up to 61m plus 21.3m. The model’s 247kW engine is Tier 3 compliant and incorporates Kobelco’s “unique” engine speed sensing (ESS) control with a three-pump hydraulic system. This provides smooth and controllable power delivery. 

New T2250 Telehandler from Bobcat The new T2250 telehandler from Bobcat offers features and benefits of the skid-steer loader, articulated wheeled loader and telehandler in one machine providing versatility for a range of applications such as plant hire, construction, industry, builders merchants and landscaping. With a height of 1970 mm, width of 1800 mm and length (without attachment) of 4190 mm, the 4.5 t T2250 is as compact as Bobcat`s largest skid-steer loader models and yet offers a loading performance comparable to that of an equivalently sized articulated wheeled loader. 

The New Skyjack SJ66T The Rental Show marked the first event in which Skyjack Inc. displayed its new 66-foot boom lift and 12,000-pound capacity telehandler. Key specs of the SJ66T jib-equipped boom lift include a 57-foot horizontal outreach, 360° continuous rotation, 170° platform rotation, 50-percent gradeability. 

JLG Supply Telehandlers to U.S. Navy JLG Industries was awarded a delivery order valued at $24.7 million for 197 JLG Millennia Military Vehicle (MMV) telescopic material handlers for the U.S. Navy. The MMV telehandler features a maximum load capacity of 11,000 pounds and a Load Moment Indicator system to inform the operator of the capacity limit. 

Manitowoc 14000 to be introduced for the North American market Manitowoc (USA) will exhibit the Model 14000 for the North American market at CONEXPO 2008. The Model 14000 is best suited to jobs that maximize its heavy-lift capabilities. These could be applications such as commercial construction, bridge building or work in fabrication yards and petrochemical plants. 

New Genie Booms with Four-Point Track System Genie (USA) has released more details on the S-60 and S-65 Trax models, the latest additions to its telescopic boom family. The new Trax booms feature a four-point track system that allows contractors to work any time of the year, enhancing traction for travel in many types of difficult terrain. The Trax models are designed with an inside turning radius of 11 feet and an outside turning radius of 21 feet. And because the boom steers like a wheeled unit, operators can drive these machines on and off the delivery trailer, as well as maneuver in close proximity to walls and foundations. The Trax booms have a travel speed of 2.7 mph. 

Snorkel Launches Boom Snorkel International launched its AB46 articulated self propelled boom. The unit, which has been updated from an existing UpRight model, has a working height of up to 52 feet, 9 inches and 24 feet, 7 inch outreach, with a 5 foot, 140° jib. The AB46 is offered as either electric 2WD or diesel-powered, 4WD for rough terrain work. It has a multi-functioning boom operation from two separate pumps, and a tight inside turning radius of less than 2 feet. 

Genie Telehandler GTH -5519 Genie Industries (USA) has incorporated an extensive package of design enhancements to its GTH -5519 compact rough-terrain telehandler, optimizing the machine’s design to provide maximum value to customers. These enhancements include a comfortable cab for increased operator productivity, increased load capacity at maximum reach, engine options to meet the latest environmental emission standards, and an easily accessible engine compartment for ease of service. 

Aichi Scissor Lifts Japan Aichi Corporation plans to launch new wheel-type scissor lifts. North American Skytower models SV2032C and SV2632C are Aichi’s first global series and are designed for indoor applications such as installation, painting, wallpapering and maintenance. The scissor lifts feature AC motor driving and a specially designed inverter to make long duty cycles at the work site and advanced driving performance. 

Palfinger Launch Truck-Crane Packages PALFINGER, a leader in truck-mounted cranes, has teamed up with North America’s leading truck manufacturers to offer power and reach with superior performance for extreme applications featuring the PK 85002, PK 100002 and PK 150002 knuckleboom cranes. A number of these truck-crane packages will be on display at this year’s ConExpo. Palfinger’s engineers design each truck and crane to withstand the maximum torque and load to tackle demanding applications. 

Maeda Mini-Crawler Cranes Maeda (Japan) will introduce its full range of mini-crawler cranes at ConExpo 2008 in Las Vegas. Shown for the first time will be four models of mini-crawler cranes. Three models of the MC series will be present. The compact 3.1 US ton MC285C with a 28ft boom will be on display. Also exhibited will be the MC305C and MC405C. The MC305C has a 3.3 US ton capacity with a 41ft boom. 

ConExpo Lift Systems Lift Systems will be showing two new products. The 4240SCTI jack system has a capacity of 244 US tons in the first cylinder stage. In the top cylinder stage the capacity is 100 Tons at 27ft. This model has the power units on the base, so it is a self-contained unit. The 30 Ton Mobilift yard crane is built on a smaller chassis for easy manoeuvrability and access to smaller spaces. 

Linden Comansa Linden Comansa America will be displaying its line of 2100 series and 500 series modular flat top cranes at ConExpo. The specific model numbers will be 21LC550 and 5LC5211. The cranes offer fast, simple and safe erection of small, light individual modules. Components can be erected directly from truck to crane with no double handling, and only a smaller mobile crane required for lifting light components at a lower height. 

Comedil CTT 231 to increase the operator’s safety and comfort Terex Comedil (Italy) has added a new Flat Top crane to its range. The Comedil CTT 231 features a 70m boom and a lifting capacity of 2.1 tonnes at the tip. The erection process has been significantly simplified – from the assembly of the stabilizer base to the positioning of the counterweights and the faster assembly of the TS23 tower components.  

Man & Material Lift Engineering Ultra-Compact Lift Man & Material Lift Engineering has developed the A30JEX, an ultra-compact lift specifically designed for hazardous environments such as painting, oil and gas processing and gas storage locations. The articulating lift is 4 feet wide and provides 30 feet of platform height and 22 feet of side reach, which includes the rotate-to-the-side jib. 

PM North America Cranes at ConExpo PM North America will introduce a new crane at this year’s ConExpo, a model of the 85SP series, the 85027SP + J1204.20. The company will also show one of its best sellers in the North American market, the 35LC USA. The 85SP is the most powerful crane in the PM product range; it’s equipped with PM Power Tronic electronic management system.  

XCMG cranes to make their debut in the US Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (China) will debut its two cranes in the US at ConExpo 2008. The cranes have been launched in North America by Canadian dealer Can-Pick, which will offer live test-drives of two XCMG cranes at a site after ConExpo.  

Genie’s Articulating Boom The Genie`s new AC drive system provides quiet, energy-efficient operation and continuous control of drive speed, traction, braking and turning by combining DC batteries with independent inverter/controllers and 3-phase AC drive motors. Caterpillar TH255: Super Compact Telehandler The TH255 super compact telehandler is a new model in the Caterpillar (USA) line that offers efficient work in tight areas. The TH255 has a rated load capacity of 5,500 pounds and capacity at maximum reach of 1,850 pounds. The new model can handle a variety of work tools including forks, hooks, buckets, augers and brooms.  

New Electric Telescopic Crane Iowa Mold Tooling Co., Inc. (IMT) has added the 5005i crane to its lineup of electric telescopic cranes. The model has a lifting capacity of 5,000 pounds and a maximum horizontal reach of 16 to 20 feet, depending on options. The 5005i crane joins other IMT electric crane models - 2003i, 3203i, 4004i and 6006i - which are specifically designed for lighter lifting applications in the construction, utility, public works, energy and railroad markets, as well as for equipment dealers and rental equipment providers. 

Grove GMK5115 from Manitowoc Manitowoc (USA) will present new Grove GMK5115 all-terrain crane at CONEPXO 2008, March 11 – 15 in Las Vegas. The crane has five axles and a maximum capacity of 115 USt in the US. The crane offers customers strength and flexibility. The GMK5115 combines great reach with the strongest load chart in its class.  

Kobelco SL6000: New Model Addition The 600-ton SL6000 crawler crane is a new model addition, at the top end of Kobelco’s comprehensive range of crawler cranes. The SL6000 features three different configurations. The standard crane has a 276-foot maximum standard main boom and 354-foot maximum long boom.  

MHT 10160: The Largest Rough Terrain Telehandler Manitou (France) will debut its massive MHT 10160 telescopic handler at Conexpo in Las Vegas in March. According to the company, it is the largest rough terrain telehandler available on the market.  

Sany Group to launch a crawler crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 900t Shanghai Sany Science & Technology Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sany Group (China), is launching a crawler crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 900t and a maximum load-moment of 13,500 tm. This is the largest-capacity crawler made by an Asian company. According to Shanghai Sany, the business goal is to fully replace the import of crawler cranes and greatly open up to the international market.  

JLG Industries to present new die-cast models JLG Industries, Inc. (USA) has introduced new die-cast models including the JLG model E33MJ mast boom lift and JLG Toucan model 1210 (the European version of model E33MJ). The new models have fully operable components, which include movable booms, adjustable steering and highly detailed controls.  

Hazardous location cranes from Konecranes Americas Hazardous location cranes and components of Konecranes Americas are designed to ensure the highest safety level required for explosive atmospheres in many chemical and petrochemical plants, oil refineries, gas power plants and waste water treatment plants. The CXT wire rope hoists and cranes cover a wide range of lifting capacities, hoist duty groups, and bridge and trolley types for applications up to 80t. 

AICHI Corporation to launch new boom lifts AICHI Corporation of Japan plans to launch new wheel-type boom lifts, Skymaster SP400C and SP460CJ, in February 2008. North American models will be unveiled and displayed in Las Vegas exhibit in February 2008.  

JLG G5-18A: Super Compact Telehandler JLG Industries, Inc. (USA) has introduced the JLG G5-18A super compact telehandler for the construction, landscape and agricultural markets. The G5-18A super compact telehandler combines operator comfort and machine maneuverability with lift capacity and reach to create a versatile and powerful compact telehandler.  

Heavy-Duty Overhead Crane from Street Crane The heavy-duty overhead crane from UK handling specialist Street Crane Company has been installed on one of the galvanizing lines. The crane is engineered for continuous use in extreme temperatures and in an electrically charged environment with high levels of magnetic flux.  

Kato-FAW truck crane to work in New Zealand Auckland Construction Equipment (New Zealand) has taken delivery of the first redesigned NK550VR Kato truck crane. China`s First Auto Works (FAW) built the chassis and exported it to Kato`s Japan factory, where Kato assembled the outrigger boxes and hydraulics, and the complete upper works were mounted. 

Access Platforms for Aircraft Maintenance Access Parts (UK) has supplied four specially designed access platforms for aircraft maintenance in Dubai. The truck mounted scissor lifts were sold to the Emirates airline. The machines consist of an Isuzu NKR truck on to which Access Parts has constructed a bespoke sub-frame chassis to carry a rebuilt UpRight X32 scissor lift. Maximum platform height is 9.7 m. 

Genie Industries introduced new articulating boom Genie Industries (USA) will start manufacturing the Z-51/30J boom at the Terexlift factory in Italy by the end of the year. The Z-51 articulating boom designed primarily for the European market is joining the Z-45/25 model that has been manufactured in Italy since April 2007. Since then over 500 of the Z-45s have been produced.  

Epsilon Material Handling Cranes Palfinger (Austria) has launched a new three-extension boom design for its Epsilon material handling cranes. The so-called tripleZ crane has a new telescopic main boom mounted to two standard double-telescoping extensions. There are five models: E90Z, E110Z, E120Z, E140Z and E165Z.  

New cranes from India Escorts Construction Equipment (ECEL) of India launched three new pick and carry cranes at Excon 2007 in Bangalore. The pick and carry TRX cranes are available with lift capacities of 23t (model TRX 2319), 17t (TRX 1713) and 16t (TRX 1614).  

New Range of Aerial Lifts UpRight (USA) has introduced its new range of trailer-mounted aerial lifts, which are being manufactured at the company’s facility in Fresno, Calif. New machines include the 37-foot UpRight TL37 and 49-foot UpRight TL49K towable aerials. 

«Potain Igo T 70»: The First in a New Line Potain (France) has introduced the first self-erecting crane in a new line Igo T 70, winning a gold medal for innovation at the recent International Technical Fair in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The key to the Igo T 70’s appeal is its flexibility through variable working heights that it achieves with the addition of 6 m auxiliary sections. This allows the T 70 to vary its working height between 23 m and 32 m. Without auxiliary masts, the T 70 achieves working heights of 15, 17 and 20 m. 

Telescopic crane from IMT Iowa Mold Tooling Co., Inc. (USA) has added the 5005i crane to its lineup of electric telescopic cranes. The 5005i has a lifting capacity of 5,000 pounds and a maximum horizontal reach of 16 to 20 feet, depending on options.  

LiftPod FS80: One Man Portable Lift JLG Australia has now launched the LiftPod, the lightweight one man portable lift. The company says that it fills the gap between ladders and larger aerial work platforms for one-person lift applications. It provides a working height of 4.4 metres, 150 kgs lift capacity and weighs just 70 kgs.  

EuroGru Amici New Models Mobile crane manufacturer EuroGru Amici (Italy) has introduced a new range of cranes in the last 12 months. The models 150.30, 150.35 and 160.30 replace and expand on the longstanding 21.33 model, which the company stopped manufacturing last year. 

Upwards together with Effer Billed as a world premiere, Italian knuckle boom manufacturer Effer presented its 100 tonne-metre model 1355-9S at the SAIE exhibition in Bologna, Italy. The model shown had a maximum horizontal outreach of more than 22 m and a working height of 26 m. It can also be fitted with a 6S fly-jib for a working height of 39 m.  

The Newest Grove Rough-terrain Crane The facility of Manitowoc Company (USA) in Italy has begun production of the newest Grove rough-terrain crane, the RT530E-2. The crane has a maximum capacity of 30 t and a four-section 29 m boom. There is a 13.7 m off-settable telescopic swing-away extension which allows tip height to extend to 44.5 m. 

New Crawler from Mantis Cranes Mantis Cranes (USA) has launched its new 100-ton capacity telescopic boom crawler, the Mantis 20010. The highlights of this crane include a 128-foot four-section boom with a 137-foot maximum tip height on the main boom. The crane lifts 40,000 pounds on the full main boom.  

New Boom Truck from Elliott Equipment Elliott Equipment (USA) has displayed its 40-ton capacity 40105R boom truck. Featuring a 105-foot boom, the 40105 can reach up to 164 feet with the addition of an optional 49-foot jib. Two longer booms in the 127- to 142-foot range are also planned for this model. According to Elliott, the crane was engineered to compete with the charts of 40-ton truck cranes on the market.

A Helping hand Odyne Corporation, Hauppauge, N.Y. introduced the first plug-in hybrid electric diesel aerial lift truck. Odyne and Dueco have developed a PHEV propulsion system for the vehicle that minimizes fuel use and emissions in a typical aerial truck mission. The system can also be recharged at any point with the conventional diesel engine.  

Spierings SK498-AT4: Innovative addition to the range Spierings (the Netherlands) has presented the SK498-AT4 that is the follow up of the well-known SK488-AT4. This enhanced 4-axle folding crane with many new developments and innovations is a real addition to the company’s existing range.  

Terex-Demag launches 300-ton all-terrain crane Terex-Demag has launched the AC 300/6, a six-axle all-terrain crane with Superlift, nine-part modular assembly system for telescopic boom extension, a second hoist and automatic counterweight system. The crane can lift a maximum of 300 t and has a maximum load moment of 951 tm. The crane has a 64 m main boom. 

Pettibone Unveils Its Largest Telehandler Pettibone (USA) unveiled the newest telescopic handler in its Traverse Series, the T10056. The T10056 is similar in design to Pettibone’s T8044. Maximum lift capacity on the T10056 is 10,000 pounds and maximum lift height is 56 feet.  

Mobile Giant from TerexDemag In October Terex Demag (Germany) unveiled its new giant crane, the 3,200 tonne lifting capacity CC 8800-1 Twin lattice boom crawler. It has a maximum load moment of 43,900 tonne-metres and is considered to be the biggest mobile crane in the world.  

New Cranes for All Tastes Manitowoc Crane Group (USA) will demonstrate three innovative cranes at ICUEE 2007. First the company will debut the National Crane Series 900H. The 900H is a 27 t capacity boom truck with H-style outriggers. The new H-style outriggers offer the advantage of full-span, mid-span, and retracted-span load charts. This model is available with a 21.03m, 28.96m, or 32m boom. The maximum tip height is 48.16m with the 32m boom and 13.41m jib.

New crawler from Link-Belt Link-Belt (USA) is introducing a new crawler crane, the 72.6 tonne capacity 138 HSL lattice boom crawler. The new 138 HSL is the next generation of the company’s 138 series H, HII and Hylab 5. 

JLG Industries: unique design of Gradall telehandler The Gradall telehandler 544D10-55 built by JLG Industries (USA) has a truly unique design. Its axle configuration features 90° pivot-steering. The rear-pivot design keeps the outside turning radius at only 178 inches, which is less than the overall length of the machine. The front axle is a rigid, limited slip design supplied by Carraro.

Cat and JLG move ahead of schedule JLG Industries announced it has commenced shipment of the Caterpillar-branded TL Series telehandlers for Cat dealers in North America and Latin America on October 25.

Kato`s plans to return to Europe remain dim Kato Works exhibited three new cranes at the recent Conet exhibition in Japan. Largest of the three was the 65 tonne capacity SL-650R truck crane. A notable feature is the three section telescopic hydraulic jib that raises the maximum hook height to 58.6 m from the 44.5 m for the main boom only.

JLG and Caterpillar announce shipment of first telehandlers Leading access equipment producer JLG Industries announced its shipment of Caterpillar-branded TH family of telehandlers for dealers in European, African, Middle Eastern and Asia-Pacific markets is underway.

Under the terms of a 20-year strategic alliance agreement announced in October 2005, JLG will provide Caterpillar dealers an exclusive, full range of Cat-branded telehandlers.

A pre-series production model with a 1,377-ton maximum load capacity is already being used in China for the construction of a chemical plant.

45-tonn telescopic model is a modernized version of HSC crane, which emerged in 2005. TCC-456 crane plant meets Tier III standards and features 182-hp (135 kWt) Isuzu engine.

The plant is equipped with hydraulic systems of model line HYLAB, which are characterized by liability and long life. The model’s 4-section boom allows to operate at height

M&T Expo – Brazilian triumph of Manitowoc Manitowoc Crane Group displayed a Grove all-terrain crane and highlighted a range of services from its Manitowoc Crane CARE customer service arm at the recent M&T Expo, held June 6-10 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The show took place at the Brazilian city’s Imigrantes Exhibition Center and is the premier construction equipment show for Latin America.

Manitowoc installs world’s largest telescope An 827-ton Model 18000 Manitowoc crawler crane recently provided the crucial lifting power necessary for completion of the world’s largest “short millimeter wavelength” radio telescope in Mexico. Known as the “LMT,” the project called on the Manitowoc giant for a variety of lifting tasks, including the installation and positioning of the antenna and satellite dish.

Liebherr cranes keep reaching out for success Within the past year Liebherr delivered 53 harbour mobile cranes in total. This is the company’s second best result in such product range, only exceeded by the 58 machines delivered during 2004.

In particular an increased demand for cranes of the highest lifting capacity and a maximum available outreach can be recorded. Just 20% each of the ex-works deliveries are covered by harbour mobile cranes of the small and medium-sized range whereas approximately 60% are being taken by the big 

Terex lets its Genie out of the bottle Construction equipment supplier Terex has begun selling its telehandler range under the Genie brand name in the North American market.

The move follows Terex"s announcement in January that it would realign several company operations during the first quarter of 2006.

Eight Genie telehandlers have been made available to North America under the new arrangement and are being produced at the Terex subsidiary"s facilities in Redmond, Washington and at Terex"s Baraga, Michigan location.

Caterpillar and access equipment specialist JLG have completed an agreement to produce and market a full line of Caterpillar telehandlers for both companies" markets.

The deal will see Caterpillar-branded telehandlers incorporated into production at JLG"s operations in Belgium and Pennsylvania, then distributed globally.

Caterpillar will retain responsibility for the B-Series telehandlers and other models manufactured prior to the transition of production to JLG, including warranty 

Manitowoc cranes to build desert plant

United States-based Manitowoc Crane Group, one of the world"s largest providers of lifting equipment for the global construction industry, is helping build a new crushing and screening plant in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile, one of the driest places on Earth.

Chilean industrial conglomerate Sigdo Koppers, employed by the main contractor BARA, hired the cranes to help build the new facility for state-owned mining producer Codelco.

Indian crane builder to expand

Indian mobile crane manufacturer Action Construction Equipment plans to develop a greenfield unit in the industrial township of Faridabad, India.

As part of a product portfolio expansion the company will invest the equivalent of $6.7million to establish loaders, build platforms and fix tower cranes there.

ACE director Sorab Agarwal told Indian newspaper the Economic Times that with operations already in the Middle East and African markets, ACE expects Asian exports of loaders
