Giant Crawler Crane
Chinese construction equipment machinery manufacturer Sany has shown off the prototype of China`s largest crane at the Bauma China fair, the 1,000t-capacity SCC 10000. Testing will be finished in three months. The crane`s maximum main boom is 120m long, and its maximum system length with jib is 96m + 96m. The massive crane has a 597kW Euro I-compliant engine (at 2,100rpm).

New Cranes from KATO
At the Bauma China show in Shanghai, Kato is showing 70t rough terrain cranes and new traditional truck cranes mounted on Chinese-made carriers. The Kato NK-550V is a 55t hydraulic truck crane with 43m boom mounted an FAW chassis and FAW Euro Tier III engine with 258kW (at 2,100rpm). A Euro II-compliant engine has been available since 2007; a new version with Tier III engine has just been released. Kato assembles the crane in Japan.

New crane on Bauma China
Chinese crawler crane and truck crane manufacturer Sany has shown a prototype of its first all-terrain crane, the QAY 220, at Bauma China. Unlike similar all-terrain cranes made by rivals Zoomlion and XCMG, the crane runs on five, not six, axles.

Hitachi Sumitomo 90 tone SCX900-2 Crawler Crane
Hitachi Sumitomo has launched a heavy duty version of its 90 tone capacity SCX900-2 crawler crane. The SCX900HD-2 has a 60 m maximum boom and a 272 kW engine for heavy duty application. The front and rear main winches have 28 mm diameter wire rope and 25 tone line pull.

New Liebherr LTM1100-4.2 All Terrain Crane
Liebherr has unveiled its new LTM1100-4.2 100 tone all terrain crane with longer boom and higher lift capacities. The new crane replaces the popular LTM1100-4.1. It includes a new seven section 60 meter pinned main boom, eight meters longer than its predecessor. When fully rigged the crane offers a maximum under hook height of 91 meters and a radius of up to 58 meters.

Raimondi MRT 126 Topless Crane
A new topless city crane, the MRT 126, makes its debut at SAIE, in Bologna. The new model fills a gap in the company`s range, between the MRT 111 and MRT 156, both of which have a lifting capacity of 8t. With a maximum lifting capacity of 10t, MRT126 lifts 1.76t (with Ultralift System) at the tip of its 60m jib.

ALE Heavylift Record Heavy Lifter
Dutch-based ALE Heavylift has unveiled its new AL.SK90 machine capable of lifting loads up to 4,300 tones. The unit has been designed and built by ALE specifically for a petrol chemical contract in Saudi Arabia with a view to being able to lift a 100 meter long, 3,000 tone item. With little modification - widening the base - the unit can offer an increased lifting capacity of 5,000 tones - AL.SK120.

New Products from Skyjack and Genie
Both Genie and Skyjack will unveil new boom lifts and self propelled mast type lifts at APEX. Skyjack will unveil its first articulated boom lift, the SJ46AJ, a 46ft platform height machine with similar lifting mechanism to the popular Genie Z45/25J, however the unit offers improved up and over reach, 360 continuous rotation as well as incorporating many of the features for which the company is known.

Manitowoc Fifth Five Axle Crane GMK 5110-1
Manitowoc has launched a new five axle all terrain, the GMK 5110-1, at an event at its Wilhelmshaven, Germany, manufacturing plant. The new crane has a maximum capacity of 110t, and a 51m meter boom. It has been designed to replace the highly popular 100t GMK 5100, the last of which left the factory a few months ago.

UpRight to present its X80ND scissor lift
UpRight has unveiled a new 80ft platform height heavy duty scissor lift which will be on display at APEX. The UpRight X80ND is a narrow (N), diesel-powered (D) scissor designed and built by its new partner Omega lift. It is just 1.24 metres wide with a 600kg lift capacity. The unit is equipped with four leveling jacks to allow it to operate on sloping ground.

Abnormal Load Engineering 4,300t Capacity Crane SK 90
Abnormal Load Engineering is planning to demonstrate the first crane the 4,300t (4,740 US ton) capacity SK 90 at a customer event in Breda, Netherlands in September. The crane will have a maximum boom length of 148m (486ft) main boom and 48m (157ft) backmast. It can lift rated capacity using four strand jacks mounted at the boom tip, a similar arrangement to Mammoet`s MSG 80 crane, which has a maximum capacity of 3,070t.

Battery - Powered Scissor Lift 4188EX
Man & Material Lift Engineering recently added the 4188EX scissor lift to its EX line of battery-powered scissor lifts. Kato High-Speed Rough Terrain Crane SR-250R

Sennebogen 835: Excellent load capacities
Sennebogen 835 Mobile units are used for heavy coal handling applications in Murmansk, the main base for the Russian North Sea Fleet. The wagons are quickly and economically unloaded by the Sennebogen machines with 1.5 - 2.0 m3 clamshell. The clam-shell is equipped with special teeth to break through the frozen layers. The extended reach in combination with excellent load capacities were important criteria in making the decision for the Sennebogen 835 machines.

New tower cranes from Linden Comansa
This summer the 11 LC 90 in 5 and 6 tonne maximum load versions is available now from the Spanish manufacturer Linden Comansa. The other four models will be available from September. These will be the 5 and 6 tonne capacity versions of the 11 LC 132, and the 11 LC 150 and 11 LC 160, both 8 tonnes capacity. Maximum radius ranges from 52.5 m to 65 m and jib-end load is from 1.2 to 1.7 tonnes.

New Cranes from Terex
The new Terex Bendini RC 30 will replace the A300 that was originally introduced in 1985 (with a lifting capacity of 25 tones) as the 25 Beta which developed into the A300 (with a lifting capacity of 30 tons) in 1997. The new 30-ton machine provides a three-stage telescopic boom with a maximum hook height of 27.4 meters.

Giraffa 210: New work platform from Italy
Italian crane manufacturer Leader has launched the new Giraffa 210, 21 metre telescopic truck mounted work platform. The 210 offers a maximum working height of 21.1 metres with a two person – 200kg capacity, full 180 degree platform rotation and up to 11 metres of outreach depending on weight in the platform: 7.5 metres with 200 kgs, 9.5 metres with 120 kgs and 11 meters with 80 kgs.

Spierings New Crawler Mounted Crane SK2400-R
Spierings the Dutch based manufacturer of mobile self erecting tower cranes held an open day on late June to launch its new SK2400-R crawler mounted crane, while also formally opening its new production halls which came into operation earlier in the year. TCM Rough Terrain Crane RTCW 35
Italian crane manufacturer TCM has launched its first rough-terrain crane, the 35t capacity RTCW 35. The crane features a four-section 32.6m octagonal boom. On outriggers, it can lift its maximum capacity of 35t at 3m with six falls of rope and 5.5t of counterweight. With the same counterweight, it can pick and carry 5t.

Manitowoc Self-Erector Igo 42
Manitowoc tower crane brand Potain launched the latest in its series of Igo self-erectors in Paris. The new crane replaces the HD 40, towards the top of the company’s range of self erectors. It has a maximum radius of 36m, lifting 1,100kg at the jib end; its overall maximum load is 4t. It fills a gap in the Igo range between the 32m maximum radius Igo 36 and 40m maximum radius Igo 50.

Kobelco High-Speed Rough Terrain Crane Panther-X 250
Kobelco has launched a 25t-capacity high-speed rough terrain crane for the Japanese market, the Panther-X 250. The boom-down rough terrain crane features a six-stage 30m boom, and at full extension can lift 7t with four falls of rope. It can lift maximum capacity of 25t at 7.3m with seven falls of rope. It also features a 6/9/12m jib.

CTE CS 135E Spider Lift
The CTE CS 135E spider is now being introduced to the North American market. CTE is modifying the unit according to ANSI standards, as it previously met European EN 280 standards. Bronto, the Finnish based manufacturer of truck mounted lifts and fire fighting appliances, is working on a larger version of its 101 meter working height S101 HLA which will, when launched, retake the title of the world’s highest reaching aerial lift. Caterpillar New Telehandlers
Caterpillar has launched three new telehandlers with lift heights from 6.1 to 9.2 meters. The Cat TH406 has a load capacity of 3700kg, a lift height of 6.1 meters and a forward reach of 3.1 meters. Vanson Tower Cranes
Vanson Cranes will use this year’s SED show to promote the considerable operational and cost savings advantages of its VC tower crane range. On show will be Vanson’s retractable loading bays and the VC27 and VC33 self erecting tower cranes, which offer simple and efficient operation. Newcomer Altux Enters Market
Altux chose the Spanish construction exhibition, SMOPyC, to show its products for the first time. Altux showed three models of diesel scissor lifts: DX112, DX115 and DX118 with maximum working heights of 12 m, 15 m and 18 m respectively, and two types of electrical scissor: EX110 and EX112 offering 10 m and 12 m working heights.

Snorkel AB46E Articulated Boom
The first production models of Snorkel’s improved AB46E articulated booms are about to start rolling off the lines at the company’s Kansas factory. Kansas will start producing European models to CE specifications in the first week of May, while the Vigo Centre in the UK will follow shortly.

Liebherr 150 tone capacity crane LTM 1150-6.1
Liebherr (Germany) unveiled a new 150 tone capacity, six-axle all terrain crane at the SMOPyC exhibition. The LTM 1150-6.1 offers a 66 m telescopic boom, the longest in its class. It has a maximum hook height of 93 m with extensions and a double swingaway jib. At a boom length of 60 m the crane can lift up to 11 tones. At full reach the boom can lift 7.7 tones.

Gottwald Mobile Harbour Crane

Ausa to introduce compact telehandler
Spanish manufacturer Ausa has launched its compact handler, the Tauralift T 204 H. A low-pivot boom machine has a load capacity of 4,400 pounds with a maximum lifting height of 13 feet, 9 inches. This is the first telescopic handler from the company, which is primarily known for its straight mast forklifts, small utility machines and concrete mixers.

Kenworth chassis for Liebherr crane
Liebherr (Germany) has shown a U.S.-version of its LTF 1045-4.1 truck crane. The 55-ton, four-axle machine with a 115-foot telescopic boom is mounted on a Kenworth chassis. Its axle loads are lower than comparable all-terrain cranes and it can be driven on public roads.

Link-Belt (USA) has shown a first prototype of the 127 ton - capacity HTC-3140LB, the largest truck crane in the USA at the ConExpo show. Manitowoc Crawler Crane
Manitowoc’s (USA) new 2,535-ton Model 31000 is designed to drastically improve the operation of a heavy-lift crawler crane with its innovative moving counterweight tray. The 31000 was officially launched at ConExpo. The 31000 includes the Variable Position Counterweight (VPC). Because the VPC never touches the ground under normal working conditions, the amount of ground preparation work needed with a typical lift-enhancing attachment is greatly reduced.

JCB Unveils New HiViz Loadall Telehandlers
JCB (UK) unveiled a major advance in the design of its machines with the launch of two new low boom Loadalls, which offer visibility and productivity improvements. Visibility on the new Loadall 535-125 HiViz and 535-140 HiViz models has improved by 10 percent, particularly to the rear of the machines, compared to the models they replace. This has been achieved by a reduction of 9.5 inches in the boom pin pivot height.

Sennebogen 825 D to sort industrial waste and scrap
Industrial waste, scrap and metal is sorted by the 825 from the new D series of Sennebogen (Germany). The 825 is responsible for unloading trucks, sorting and for feeding a Taurus scrap cutter. The machine is mounted on a rail-car undercarriage, which makes it possible to feed the scrap cutters on one side and to sort scrap and metal on the other.

Manitowoc (USA) will introduce the topless tower crane from Potain at CONEXPO 2008, March 11-15 in Las Vegas. The MDT 268 has an improved reach and numerous features to simplify and speed up the erection and dismantle process. The crane is available in a J10 version with an 11 USt maximum capacity and a J12 version with a 13.2 USt maximum capacity.

New Stellar Industries Service Crane
US service equipment manufacturer Stellar Industries launches 3,200 lb (1.45t) capacity electric/hydraulic service crane. The crane has 15ft of reach in a 8ft stowed length and 2ft of stowed height. The EC3200, claimed to be the first to include a radio remote control as standard. It also features a special mounting configuration to fix on a body with 14in or 20in deep compartments.

New Kobelco Crawler Crane CKE1100
Kobelco Cranes will unveil a new 110 tone capacity crawler crane during SMOPyC exhibition in Spain. The CKE1100 has a main boom length of 15.2 to 70.1m, with a maximum rated load of 110 tones. There is also the option of fixed jib combinations up to 61m plus 21.3m. The model’s 247kW engine is Tier 3 compliant and incorporates Kobelco’s “unique” engine speed sensing (ESS) control with a three-pump hydraulic system. This provides smooth and controllable power delivery.

JLG Supply Telehandlers to U.S. Navy
JLG Industries was awarded a delivery order valued at $24.7 million for 197 JLG Millennia Military Vehicle (MMV) telescopic material handlers for the U.S. Navy. New Genie Booms with Four-Point Track System
Genie (USA) has released more details on the S-60 and S-65 Trax models, the latest additions to its telescopic boom family. The new Trax booms feature a four-point track system that allows contractors to work any time of the year, enhancing traction for travel in many types of difficult terrain. The Trax models are designed with an inside turning radius of 11 feet and an outside turning radius of 21 feet. And because the boom steers like a wheeled unit, operators can drive these machines on and off the delivery trailer, as well as maneuver in close proximity to walls and foundations. The Trax booms have a travel speed of 2.7 mph.

Snorkel Launches Boom
Snorkel International launched its AB46 articulated self propelled boom. The unit, which has been updated from an existing UpRight model, has a working height of up to 52 feet, 9 inches and 24 feet, 7 inch outreach, with a 5 foot, 140° jib. The AB46 is offered as either electric 2WD or diesel-powered, 4WD for rough terrain work. It has a multi-functioning boom operation from two separate pumps, and a tight inside turning radius of less than 2 feet.

Aichi Scissor Lifts
Japan Aichi Corporation plans to launch new wheel-type scissor lifts. North American Skytower models SV2032C and SV2632C are Aichi’s first global series and are designed for indoor applications such as installation, painting, wallpapering and maintenance. Maeda (Japan) will introduce its full range of mini-crawler cranes at ConExpo 2008 in Las Vegas. Shown for the first time will be four models of mini-crawler cranes. ConExpo Lift Systems
Lift Systems will be showing two new products. The 4240SCTI jack system has a capacity of 244 US tons in the first cylinder stage. In the top cylinder stage the capacity is 100 Tons at 27ft. This model has the power units on the base, so it is a self-contained unit. The 30 Ton Mobilift yard crane is built on a smaller chassis for easy manoeuvrability and access to smaller spaces.

Linden Comansa
Linden Comansa America will be displaying its line of 2100 series and 500 series modular flat top cranes at ConExpo. The specific model numbers will be 21LC550 and 5LC5211. The cranes offer fast, simple and safe erection of small, light individual modules. Access Platforms for Aircraft Maintenance
Access Parts (UK) has supplied four specially designed access platforms for aircraft maintenance in Dubai. The truck mounted scissor lifts were sold to the Emirates airline. The machines consist of an Isuzu NKR truck on to which Access Parts has constructed a bespoke sub-frame chassis to carry a rebuilt UpRight X32 scissor lift. Maximum platform height is 9.7 m.

Kato comes back to European market
Japanese construction equipment manufacturer Kato Works Co. Ltd and the Rigo family of Autogru Rigo S.p.A. reported plans to establish in February 2007 Euro Rigo S.p.A., an Italian joint venture company.

Genie to present new equipment

The Manitowoc Crane Group revealed plans for its 220-ton Model 14000 crawler crane. Having received several dozen orders already for the 14000, Manitowoc will begin deliveries in early 2007.

Cat and JLG move ahead of schedule

Kato`s plans to return to Europe remain dim
Kato Works exhibited three new cranes at the recent Conet exhibition in Japan. Largest of the three was the 65 tonne capacity SL-650R truck crane. A notable feature is the three section telescopic hydraulic jib that raises the maximum hook height to 58.6 m from the 44.5 m for the main boom only.

JLG and Caterpillar announce shipment of first telehandlers
Leading access equipment producer JLG Industries announced its shipment of Caterpillar-branded TH family of telehandlers for dealers in European, African, Middle Eastern and Asia-Pacific markets is underway.
Under the terms of a 20-year strategic alliance agreement announced in October 2005, JLG will provide Caterpillar dealers an exclusive, full range of Cat-branded telehandlers.

Another member of Liebherr crane family
At its 2006 Customer Days in Ehingen, Germany, Liebherr announced the addition of the LR 11350 to its crawler crane product line. A pre-series production model with a 1,377-ton maximum load capacity is already being used in China for the construction of a chemical plant.

Hitachi prepares a surprise for autumn
Hitachi Sumitomo Construction Crane Co., in collaboration with Link-Belt, presented a new model of truck-type crane plant TCC-450.
45-tonn telescopic model is a modernized version of HSC crane, which emerged in 2005. TCC-456 crane plant meets Tier III standards and features 182-hp (135 kWt) Isuzu engine.

Manitex, Texas, USA, introduced its latest high-capacity truck-mounted crane at the Global Petroleum Show held in Calgary. M&T Expo – Brazilian triumph of Manitowoc
Manitowoc Crane Group displayed a Grove all-terrain crane and highlighted a range of services from its Manitowoc Crane CARE customer service arm at the recent M&T Expo, held June 6-10 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The show took place at the Brazilian city’s Imigrantes Exhibition Center and is the premier construction equipment show for Latin America.

Manitowoc installs world’s largest telescope
An 827-ton Model 18000 Manitowoc crawler crane recently provided the crucial lifting power necessary for completion of the world’s largest “short millimeter wavelength” radio telescope in Mexico. Liebherr cranes keep reaching out for success
Within the past year Liebherr delivered 53 harbour mobile cranes in total. This is the company’s second best result in such product range, only exceeded by the 58 machines delivered during 2004.

Terex lets its Genie out of the bottle
Construction equipment supplier Terex has begun selling its telehandler range under the Genie brand name in the North American market.
The move follows Terex"s announcement in January that it would realign several company operations during the first quarter of 2006.
Eight Genie telehandlers have been made available to North America under the new arrangement and are being produced at the Terex subsidiary"s facilities in Redmond, Washington and at Terex"s Baraga, Michigan location.

The deal is done!
Caterpillar and access equipment specialist JLG have completed an agreement to produce and market a full line of Caterpillar telehandlers for both companies" markets.
The deal will see Caterpillar-branded telehandlers incorporated into production at JLG"s operations in Belgium and Pennsylvania, then distributed globally.
Caterpillar will retain responsibility for the B-Series telehandlers and other models manufactured prior to the transition of production to JLG, including warranty

Manitowoc cranes to build desert plant
United States-based Manitowoc Crane Group, one of the world"s largest providers of lifting equipment for the global construction industry, is helping build a new crushing and screening plant in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile, one of the driest places on Earth.

Indian crane builder to expand
Indian mobile crane manufacturer Action Construction Equipment plans to develop a greenfield unit in the industrial township of Faridabad, India.
As part of a product portfolio expansion the company will invest the equivalent of $6.7million to establish loaders, build platforms and fix tower cranes there.
