TNT Invest ?100 Million in Asia-Europe Connection
TNT announced it will invest 100 million euros ($158.5 million) over the coming 5 years to strengthen its network coverage, connectivity and infrastructure. TNT aims to build a leadership position by leveraging on the soaring demand for freight express services between Southeast Asia, China and Europe.

TNT Express Opens International Road Connection to Ukraine
TNT Express has become the first express integrator to open an international road connection to Ukraine to handle growing shipping volumes to and from one of Europe’s fastest-growing economies. Connecting TNT’s Express Road Network in Europe and Ukraine’s largest overnight network, the new route will link Ukraine’s major economic centers, such as Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa, to Europe and the rest of the world via Kiev and TNT’s road hub in Warsaw, Poland.

TNT E-Invoices with Digital Signature
TNT will offer secured electronic invoices with digital signature in more than thirty countries by the end of March 2008. Called `Express Invoicing`, the new service will be available for customers in most European countries, Australia, Singapore, Hong-Kong, South Africa, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. TNT’s web-based e-invoicing solution is free of charge.

Eurasian Land Bridge Test
A container-laden train bound for Hamburg has left Beijing, beginning the 10,000 km journey that will take just under twenty days. The route will take the container train from the Chinese capital through the Mongolian Republic, along the Trans-Siberian Railroad, through Belarus and Poland and through to Hamburg.

Silk Road Project
Eight countries sign agreements for Central Asia’s $19 billion Silk Road project. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan have signed the agreement with China, Mongolia, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan. This ten-year project that involves the construction of six road-rail corridors will provide a vital link between Russia and south Asia and the Middle East.
