The new Caterpillar 785D Mining Truck incorporates new features to boost performance and reliability, reduce engine emissions and enhance safety. The improvements also focus on component commonality to keep parts stocking and maintenance simple. The 785D target payload ranges from 142 to 155 tons (129 to 141 metric tons) depending on the specific configuration.

New Load Haul Dump MX80
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced release of its MX80, a new load haul dump vehicle with enhanced safety as well as environmental and operational performance. Fitted with a new high-power diesel engine that produces less toxic exhaust such as CO, NOx and black smoke, the MX80 meets Japan’s new emissions standards for off-road vehicles and is creating a better working environment in underground operations.

Reliable Hitachi dump truck
The sales of Hitachi EH3500AC II rigid dump truck (Gross Machine Weight 325 tons, 185-ton payload class) for international use in large-scale mining will begin in September 2008. The EH3500AC II utilizes AC drive technology from Hitachi, Ltd. using its most recent Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT), and based on the inverter technology used in high-speed railway trains.

Komatsu New 960E-1 Mining Truck
Komatsu expands its line of super-large haul trucks by launching the 960E-1(960E) model haul truck (max. payload: 327 tons) with AC electric drive. The 960E is the largest model of the Komatsu Group and measures 7 meters high with its tires of almost 4 meters in diameter.
