Vladimir Putin will not hamper the merge of Russian automotive industry On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at his annual press conference that the merge of Russian giants GAZ, AutoVAZ and KAMAZ would be possible if the owners of these companies came to such a decision. “If all participants of the process come to the conclusion that this merge can contribute to the development of Russian machinery industry, such decisions will be supported by the state”, Mr. Putin said. He remarked that the state “will not impose any decisions”.

Finland to arm Lithuanian army According to the press service of Defence Ministry of Lithuania, its army will purchase Finland-made cross-country polyfunctional armored truck of military purpose SISU E11T.

The contract with a Finnish truck manufaturing company Oy Sisu Auto AB was subscribed in the middle of December, 2005. The amount of the deal exceeds 20 mln euro. The prolongation of the contract is also forseen. The truck will be supplied in three modifications.

Chinese industry continues accelerating in development The Commerce Ministry of Chinese Peoples’ Republic reported that the bulk of Chinese machinery and electronic products exported in 2005 amounts to 775 bln USD, which means 25 per cent growth. As for export rate, it exceeded $400 bln.

According to the Ministry’s statistics, in January-February period of the last year, inport-export turnover of machinery and electronics produced in China equalled to $696.42 bln with 23.9% growth. Particularly, export amounted $382.44 bln (32.7% growth)
