New red trains from Alstom
Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV), the first private rail operator in Italy, has unveiled in Rome the livery of the AGV very high speed train fleet to be used on the Italian rail network from 2011. In January 2008 NTV announced that it had chosen Alstom to supply and maintain 25 ultra-modern AGV trains. The red livery, with a narrow golden stripe along the carriages, is a perfect match for the shape of the trains. Italian flags indicate the train operator’s country of origin.

Germany First Automated Passenger Service
Germany has launched its first fully automated subway and the first driverless metro. The system, known as Rubin, was developed by Siemens Mobility and will be operated by the Nuremberg transit authority (VAG) on Metro Line 3. Rubin`s U3 is expected to operate for one year in mixed running on a section of track shared with the conventional trains of Line U2.

Multiple-Unit Train Siemens Desiro ML
The Belgian rail operator Soci?t? Nationale de Chemins de Fer Belge (SNCB) has placed an order for 305 multiple-unit trains of Siemens to be used in Belgium’s regional rail service. The contract is worth EUR 1.425 billion and marks the biggest order Siemens has ever received in the rolling stock sector.

China Unveils its First Bullet Train
China`s first domestically produced train that able to reach 350 kilometers per hour, rolled off the production line. The train was produced in the northern city of Tangshan by the China Northern Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Corp.

Alstom Regional Trains
The test run of Alstom (France) Coradia Lirex train on in-house test track in Germany has been successful. The first train of the 79 trainsets ordered by Deutche Bahn will enter into service at the end of 2008. Coradia LIREX has been established as an international Alstom Regional train platform that will be called Coradia Continental.
