Modern Alstom Coradia Liner inter-city trainsets
National French operator SNCF Alstom has signed a €346m contract with Alstom to supply 34 diesel-electric trains Coradia Liner. Intercity trains Coradia Liner would be half-way between regional express trains (TER) and high speed trainsets (TGV).
Each of the 34 ordered 100 m Coradia Liner trains will be six-car sets and carry up to 267 passengers. The new trains provide maximum comfort for passengers with easy entry and exit, thanks to the large doors and platform-level boarding. Inside there are spacious passenger areas, new seats with upholstered armrests, coat hooks and power sockets.
The train will be operated under 25 kV 50 Hz, or powered by six 350 kW diesel MAN engines, installed on the roof. Compared with its predecessors Coradia Liner features a lightweight design, providing better acceleration and braking, 30% fuel efficiency. All technical equipment will be installed on the roof for easy access and maintenance. The monitoring system Traintracer will provide all the necessary diagnostic information.
