The Japanese JR Kyushu Railway Company has become the first in Japan to build a luxury sleeper cruise train Seven Stars, spending 29.9 million US dollars. The train consists of seven carriages, 14 luxury rooms, 2 deluxe rooms, 3 presidential suites, a lounge, a dining car and bar.

The train’s name "Seven Stars" is not its rating, it symbolizes the seven regions of Kyushu: Fukuoka, Oita, Saga, Miyazaki, Nagasaki, Kagoshima and Kumamoto, which it travels, and seven of its carriages and seven tourist highlights of Kyushu, namely cuisine, the high level of comfort and hospitality, and the opportunity to discover nature, history and culture, to visit hot springs, spiritual sites and sightseeing.

The Seven Stars train departs from the port of Fukuoka, then travels through the north-western part of Kyushu and includes a visit to the volcano Aso, the largest active volcano in Japan. Maximum train speed is 100 km/h, the average speed ranges around 50-70 km/h.

The luxurious Seven Stars train rooms accommodates two passengers and a fully equipped bathroom. And if you are lucky to get the deluxe suite in the last carriage, then you will have the opportunity to look out over the train tracks over the panoramic window.

All cabins are finished with natural wood, each with different wood and a different feel. The Seven Stars is booked until the end of March next year, from January will open bookings for the period from July to September. You can purchase a two-day or four-day tour, the cost of the first is US$1,571 per person and $3,963 per person for four days.
