BSP (a joint venture between Bombardier Transportation, Power Corporation of Canada and China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Corporation) has received an order for 40, 16-car, high-speed trainsets from the Chinese Ministry of Railways (MOR). The order is valued at approximately 1 billion euros ($1.5 billion US).  

Reliable Power Freightliner Heavy Haul Ltd (FHH) named one of its new low emission class 66 locomotives `The Drax Flyer`. The locomotive named, number 66585, is a newly built, low-emission machine, underpinning both companies` commitment to moving freight on rail and minimising environmental impact.  

First Hybrid Train in France French train manufacturer Bombardier has unveiled the world`s first environmentally friendly hybrid train. French rail network SNCF will be operating the Hybrid AGC on Champagne-Ardenne lines connecting to the capital Paris. The first dual mode (electric and diesel) and dual voltage (1500 and 25000V) AGC technology enables the train to access electricity from any available source.  

Your Comfort with Bombardier Transportation Bombardier Transportation has been commissioned by the Norwegian State Railway (NSB) to refurbish 56 Class 5 coaches. This contract, valued at approximately 64 million euros ($91 million US), is a demonstration of the trust that major railway operators place in Bombardier’s refurbishment capabilities. 

Japanese railways to purchase more Shinkansen trains JR WEST and JR Central, Japan, are set to invest more than $US 1.72 billion to double the size of their series N700 Shinkansen train fleets. The two railways already have 54 of the 300km/h trains on order, and the first production series N700s are now entering service with JR Central on the Tokaido line.
