BAE Systems Terrier combat engineer vehicle
The UK Army has received the first light-armored vehicle Terrier from BAE Systems. Weighing only 30 tons, the machine is designed to remove obstacles and mines, digging anti-tank ditches, and can be also used as an armored personnel carrier.
Terrier is air-transportable by C-17 Globemaster III or the Airbus A400M. Terrier armored vehicle is the first of its kind featuring drive-by-wire technology.
If necessary Terrier can be operated automatically by remote control, radio link up to 1 km. Multi-purpose machine is equipped with a wide range of attachments for digging and drilling into the shatter concrete or ground, lifting objects.
Among other things, Terrier combat vehicle is equipped with five onboard cameras and thermal imaging technology, as well as general purpose machine gun 7.62 mm and smoke grenade.
