Indian COLT is a military vehicle
Pitted against the enemy
Ashok Leyland Defence Systems and Panhard General Defense created a Light Tactical Vehicle COLT 4x4. There are three configurations of COLT – COLT LTV 4x4, COLT LAV and COLT Airmobile.
Vehicle armor means anti-ballistic protection, mines and explosions protection meeting the 2nd level of STANAG 4569. All versions are powered by turbo-diesel engine (Euro-3), which is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Depending on the version, performance of the vehicle changes:
The vehicle has a standard layout: first the engine compartment comes, then crew cabin and than cargo or passenger compartment. The exit from the passenger compartment is meant though single doors on the sides of the truck. An emergency exit is provided at the rear. The vehicle is right hand driven.
COLT can be equipped with optional electric winch, a roof hatch, central tire inflation system, antenna and stations with food and weapons. Fording depth without preparation is 0,535 m.
