Being Komatsu's exclusive wireless monitoring system, KOMTRAX™ is the factory, which is fitted on most of Komatsu machines. During many years, it was a leader in machine monitoring technology and provided a useful information to its users in a friendly format. KOMTRAX™ reports provide the information about the machine location and can be sent with the detailed data about fuel consumption, idle time and workload. KOMTRAX™ helps to identify the inefficient operation and provide some economy recommendation.
As for now Komatsu has at last updated its KOMTRAX™ telematics system in order to provide more data for European machines equipped with the latest Stage IIIB engines. Now the information about the diesel particulate filter will be available to reduce emissions. Besides, the owners of the machines can obtain the data about fuel consumption, payloads and travel distances.
KOMTRAX™ will show the amount of active regenerations performed on the DPF on the machine and the time, which was spent to do it. Moreover than the total fuel consumption, the fuel consumption during actual working hours will be provided by the system. For excavators and dozers the data about the location will be available, and the payload and travel distance can be monitored on articulated dump trucks and wheeled loaders. Reports on breaker hours will also be available for hydraulic excavators.
The main feature of these reports is that the owner of new machines now can get known of how often energy-saving cautions were sent to the operator. These can be useful in situation when the idle times became too long or the machine were overloaded. It will make recommendations for more economic mode.
Komatsu made improvements to KOMTRAX™ not only to maximize efficiency, but also to become a reliable partner for its distributors and customers.
